Self tanner

18 days away. I didn't think about this sooner, otherwise I would have experimented, but I no longer have time for that.
I am a ginger. As white as white can be. I do want to be a little tan for the wedding, although I don't want to go overboard. I just don't want to be the same color as my dress.
What have you done to tan yourself? DIY lotions/spray? Purchased lotion/spray? What do you use. Also, I don't want to hear about just going in the sun. I go out in the sun for even 5 minutes, I burn. My FH is Greek, so he's ridiculously tan, and it's so unfair haha. Help me! I just want some color!

I would go get a professional spray tan. It's worth the money. I personally wouldn't try it yourself if you are inexperienced with it. It could end horribly (imagine orange and streaky). If you can try to get one asap to test it out and see if you like it I would. That way it has time to fade away and if you like it, you can get another one before the wedding. Every time I get a spray tan it lasts a little over a week. A salon should be able to give you advice about what color to do. And exfoliate your skin prior if you go for it. Good luck! Fair skin is beautiful but I know what you mean a good tan looks great against a white dress lol

I would go to a professional - you could look on Groupon for a sale. Another lower cost option is Hollywood tans - it’s not as good as a professional but it’s not bad, they will recommend a color. Exfoliate beforehand. Don’t use any body oils in the shower after - it dulls it. And make sure you shower before you go to the salon, the color takes time to deepen, so it’s best to keep it on for 10+ hrs (I’ve waited close to 18 hrs before showering) after you have the application applied.

I am also a ginger. I have had minimal luck with even self-tanner. I even dod an airbrush tan, and it was discolored on one hand and both feet by my heels. It also wore uneven and I'm so pale it was noticable. Also I was orange the first day. And the tan was very light!

This close to your wedding you should leave it alone since you have never tried it. Every possible method requires trial and error. I've tried them all. However, if you still want to try and are okay with just a little color then the best method with the lowest risk is using Jergens gradual self tanning lotion. It can take about 2 weeks of consistent use to get any noticeable color though.

Like many others I recommend going to a professional place for a spray tan! I personally love going to a place where a person sprays you but even the machines are greats! I have some fave self tanners I use during the summer, but I wouldn’t suggest going to diy route for your wedding, you don’t want to risk ending up streaky/splotchy on your wedding day.

I wouldn't do it! Embrace your beautiful porcelain skin. It's so close to time now, if you end up streaky or uneven or if the color looks off... it will be too late to do anything to change it! Even with a professional job, there are no guarantees you will like it. Keep a good skin care routine up and just go with it.

I agree too embrace your natural skin or go professional. However, an affordable do it yourself tan is "loving tan" it is amazing, doesn't smell and applies non streaky - check out youtubers reviews (thats how I came across it) Im very fair and I used the medium for a natural glow.

I would get a professional spray tan as well. They are fairly affordable and in all honesty the best way to match your color without the huge gamble.

Girl, I feel you. Im also extremely pale! I have been using Jergens Glow for a few weeks now and it has worked wonders! I can actually wear a white shirt without blending in now haha. I don't know if you would have time now for it to really make a difference but you could still try it, even afterwards. I use the fair to medium one.

In your short time span, I would probably go get a spray tan.

This! Porcelain skin is beautiful! Not a ginger, but also very pale. I use to try the self tanning lotions when I was younger but now I just lean into the pale skin. Do you have a professional makeup artist? She can help make sure you don't looked washed out against the white dress Smiley smile
