Not mine but from my brother's wedding! It was a hit. People loved the Polaroid style. Just make sure you have enough film!

We did it and loved it! I don't have pics of the setup yet, but we had an instamax camera and film, and a box of props. We also used it as our guestbook, so we asked guests to put one pic in our book and take one home. It looked like everyone was having a lot of fun with it, and the pics were great!

Did anyone just have people use their phones and hashtag it?

We did a DIY photo booth at our wedding - bought and hung up a cheesy backdrop from Amazon and had a couple of selfie sticks, props, and a sign. Worked out fine!

FH is building a stand out PVC for our backdrop. We will have props but I'm debating if I should just supply the camera or have people use their own phone. Still indecisive about it.

We looked into this at the beginning when we were worried photobooths were not in the budget... with all the stuff you have to buy and all that it ended up being just easier to get a photobooth. So, I always recommend that.

We were thinking about setting up and ipad but we are worried that it will get messed with too much or fall and break. That is why we thought of people using their phones

I'm not sure how much I'll end up saving but the traditional photobooth is quite common in my area so I'm going to do a backdrop/selfie sticks just for something different. I think I'm going to get an Instamax camera and then extra selfie sticks for anyone who would rather use their phone. Selfie sticks are only about $5. Here's my backdrop inspiration photo:

I've been to several where you just take the picture with your phone and only one wasn't used. They didn't have it set up well and I don't think people realized what it even was. The ones that are clearly labeled as a photo station with props and a hashtag people can use usually go over decent. Like with most things, it usually depends on your crowd.

I don't get the point. People can take selfies on their phones like they normally do.

FH & I are planning to purchase a Polaroid, set it up with lots of film, props that we plan to purchase right after Halloween (sales!!!!), put up a backdrop, some signs, and have our DJ encourage guests to use it throughout the night. Its nice because guests get to take home their own memento and you also get one for your guest book.

Nope. Selfies seem really self indulgent to me. We just paid our photographer to be there through the reception and take lots of photos. Plus we had a photo booth.
