Just Said Yes April 2025

Selling our reserved wedding venue.

Wedding planning is more stressful than it’s worth when you are planning your own wedding with us having 7 kids (combined family) and both of us working a full time job.. Our wedding was scheduled for Nov. 2nd 2024.
Due to family reasons and just not having enough time to schedule by that time, we decided to postpone to April 26, 2025. Well after much thought I have decided I was just cancel the whole thing. I’m just over it. We still owe 2 payments on it. And my thoughts were to find some one that would be interested in and selling for half of total price and then I would pay off the remainder with that. So I’m losing a few thousand but I’m just over it and not wanting to put more money in it. Would anyone know a group or page that I could post the venue for sale on?

Maybe contact some wedding planners who maybe could take advantage of that. Try some officiants too. I'm hoping someone needs a late change.

Facebook groups for local weddings would be a good place to start. Search for groups named something like, "San Diego Weddings" or "Brides in New York" (but put your city/area or state name instead), and add a post with all the info and a few pictures of the venue.

Will your venue allow that? I think most places would have restrictions on transferring a contract to someone else.

That question has to be checked into. Then, if needed, call the venue and ask for an email saying that you have permission to remedy the situation for the advantage of both you and the venue. It is obnoxious and too one-sided for them to want the contract to be paid in full without some option for your reimbursement if they get another event scheduled for that date.
