Selling your old wedding decorations

Rachel, on September 2, 2016 at 9:06 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 13

Has anyone on here used a site like wedding-recycle.com to sell decorations after their wedding? My mom and I were joking about all the hurricane candle holders we're going to have and not knowing what to with them...i think it would make her happy to know she'll get a little bit of money back after all she's shelling out. What are your experiences using sites like this?

Facebook is huge around me. There's like 3 Knoxville area wedding resale groups. The good stuff goes fast, lanterns will be gone in minutes. The staples will go fast if it's priced right. I just bought 2 simple wooden easels for 10$ a piece.

There's a Facebook resale wedding group that I've been getting some ideas and purchases from. It's very specific to our area so there's no shipping costs tacked on. Alternatively you can easily post on Craigslist for your area.

OfferUp has been a godsend to us. We've found a lot of our stuff on there and plan to sell our tablecloths when we're done with them.

Ruffledblog.com has a recycle your wedding section. I have actually bought a few things from there already and it is great!

CT has a bunch of wedding swap groups on Facebook with thousands of members. See if you have one near you! I've bought decor off past brides already!

Those sites are great, but unfortunately some brides are expecting full price for items!

When you buy decorations expect getting close to nothing back on it. It's so hard to resell things (in my option) that if you buy something thinking your going to sell it for anywhere close to what you bought it for. I have some bad news.

Thanks to everyone for your ideas! I'm not expecting to get anywhere near what I paid back. I mostly just don't want to be stuck with a bunch of stuff laying around! I hadn't thought of local FB pages but that's a great idea!
