Yes, it is too early. They should not be sent until August.

Yes. Etiquette is 6-8 weeks ahead with RSVPs due a month before. Too early and you risk running into lost or misplaced invitations, as well as people who can’t commit and will send regrets if you have to know that early.

I totally understand the excitement of wanting to get invitations out, and to get that headcount early for planning purposes! Unfortunately, June is too early for invitations to a mid October wedding. You should start sending out invitations in August.

I feel like so many opinions are outdated on here. June is NOT too early to send out invites you should just be prepared to remind people cause not everyone will RSVP right away if you send them out.

Thank you so much. I was just so confused on when because I already have people asking when & if I’m going to send invites soon & some asking if they’re not invited anymore because they haven’t received anything

The information is not outdated. But are there people who send invitations inappropriately early or who are misinformed? Sure.

It depends, sometimes people plan stuff way ahead of time, so if you want to, send them out so they can rsvp early and put the date on the calendar to remember. I would say the sooner the better becuase sometimes caterers need a full head count like 2 weeks before the wedding to make sure they order enough food.

Other half and I were gonna send invites out in march, we got busy so I ended up going through every single rsvp and rewriting the respond by date and sent them in April.

Yah I think the sooner the better is the best way to go. I also forgot to mention that I am getting married on a Thursday so another reason as to why I wanted to send them out early was because people would have to request the time off so that was my only main concern.

I think August is too late. What about the end of July?

I'm getting married 10/10/25, which is also a Thursday and I plan to send our invites after 4th of July in 2025. Half our guests are from out of state and even with Save-the-Dates I want to give them adequate time to book flights or reserve hotel rooms. We all know most people put that stuff off until the invite comes.
