Separate photographer and separate videographer

BJ, on March 12, 2018 at 11:23 PM Posted in Planning 0 9
We are thinking of hiring a company to do photography and a separate company to do viedography. Thoughts? Thank you!

We're doing that also. I think it's ok. Our videographer did suggest someone that they've worked with numerous times before to photograph but we still chose another photographer. Usually thats how it'll be unless you find and are pleased with a company that offers both.

We're doing that as well and both companies are fine with it. I've had my photographer booked for months and she doesnt offer videography services so when we decided we wanted a highlight reel we had to find someone else anyway. I did give her a heads up before I started looking and she helped us find the perfect videographer. If you can find a great company that offers both it's usually cheaper to do a package deal. If you do go with separate ones they should have experience working with others in this situation so they should be able to be professional and work together.

This is very common, if not the norm. They are two separate vendors with different skill sets so you should choose each for the quality of their work.

I had photog & videogs tell us that if you have 2 different vendors, your end products won't be cohesive. I guess that makes sense, but it's really up to what you want.

I chose a company that is both photo/video for my wedding. The less vendors to keep track of, the better for us.

I have separate, neither seemed bothered by it, but neither offer the other service. I booked videographer first because I love their work and they did a friend's wedding. They usually speak with the photographer before the wedding to make sure they're on the same page.

Hi BJ! I booked separate photographers and videographers as well! My photographer didn't offer videography and vice-versa! Smiley smile

I did ask during the booking process how they worked with other companies when trying to get the same shots, and if they had anyone they love working with!

I'm doing that. I didn't find a company that did both and was a good price for both together. I found them better separately. If you find them together thats great!
