September Honeymoon... Covid???

Katie, on January 31, 2021 at 9:15 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 4
We’ve been hoping to do an international honeymoon, but really hesitant to book anything in advance because of COVID. It’s in September, so that’s 8 months for things to get better, but it’s hard to book a trip of a lifetime with just the *hope* that there won’t be travel restrictions in place. What are other fall brides doing for their honeymoon? Waiting to book? Postponing your trips? Staying local?

We took 5 months between our wedding and our honeymoon, and we weren't the only ones!

If you can wait to book, I'd just sock the money in a high-yield savings account and sit.

The fall might not be great for traveling, but maybe by winter/next spring?

We’re waiting to book our August honeymoon until later this spring! Nothing’s selling out so you have time to wait and see!

If you want a true, covid free, international honeymoon, I’d wait. Maybe do something small in the US that is a bit more outdoorsy and wait for a bigger honeymoon. We ended up applying the money to things we can do during covid/outdoor excursions.

We rescheduled our flights from last summers canceled Japan trip, to this August. It's highly unlikely Japan will allow international travel by then, so we aren't booking anything else until maybe a month or two out. We have three back-up trips mapped out within the US. I would look at where you are going and starting tracking their travel restrictions and news, but wouldn't look anything nonrefundable.
