September wedding in NY

Cass, on February 6, 2017 at 7:23 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 4

So I love love LOVE country / barn settings but there aren't many barns on Long Island, the only one that is local is out of budget so I was going to start looking slightly upstate but I'm not sure where to start, I'm looking about 2 hrs from New York City though

I live in the Hudson Valley of NY, so I'm acquainted with Long Island and the upstate counties you'll want to investigate. If you want to be married in NY and you're willing to travel up to two hours, try Orange County, Sullivan County, and Dutchess County. Google those counties with "barn weddings".

If you're willing to be married in NJ, contact Perona Farms in Andover, NJ. Not knowing where you are on the island, I can only guestimate the distance, but I'm going to assume that you're going to travel anywhere from an hour and a half to two hours. I've worked this venue before, and if an elegant barn venue is what you want, this is a place you'll want to check out.

I went to a barn wedding in Roxbury NY .. I think it was called the inn at west settlement. It wasn't my thing , but if you're into the barn style you may like it! It was actually in September as well .

There's a barn that my FH and I looked at in Pawling, NY it's absolutely beautiful. It's called Kirby Farm. They also have rooms for guests to stay on their property.

But we decided to go with the Adirondack feel/look with the Bear Mountain Inn. Only reason why we didn't choose the farm.

Perona is one of our faves, and they do a fabulous job. They do an amazing cocktail hour, family style service and the food rocks. They have an orchard setting for the ceremony as well.
