Sequel Ceremony Help!

Tyler, on November 4, 2020 at 10:44 AM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 2 5
As many have had to do, due to coronavirus we chose to postpone our large wedding ceremony until June of next year. To save our original wedding date, we had a small minimony in June, with maybe 20 guests. During that ceremony just my husband and I walked down the aisle and we chose not to have anyone in our bridal party until everyone could be present next year.

I guess my question is, I’m getting hung up on what our ceremony next June should be. Is it a vow renewal, technically? Do we just re-do the ceremony? Will it be silly to have a bridal party stand up for us during a vow renewal? I’m sure I’m over thinking it but just curious of everyone’s thoughts! Thanks!

Ultimately, you guys can do whatever you want! But typically, that would be a vow renewal with no bridal party.

Doing the same thing, we are doing a vow renewal but because we didn't have our bridal party standing in our backyard wedding (just us and our parents) we are going to be keeping it like it would have normally been.

My husband and I will be having our bridal party for our big wedding! We are pretty much doing everything as if it was the first time. For our minimony we did traditional vows but we will be writing our own for our big wedding in March. We are literally doing everything that we would've done for the "first time" wedding.

It would technically be a vow renewal. Under normal circumstances, there isn't a bridal party. However, these are unique circumstances so I would have your bridal party participate just like they would if you had been able to have the wedding you originally planned. This is what a lot of people have been forced to do because of Covid.

I agree with Veronica! Very unique circumstances indeed.
