Setting a date during lent

Amanda , on January 17, 2018 at 7:44 PM Posted in Family and Relationships 0 1
So the date on my profile is one of the possible dates but we haven’t set one yet. FH is a firefighter so we picked some dates from April - June of 2019 that are possibilities and work with his schedule. He was hoping to do April so it could be cheaper(also shooting for a Friday night to help with the price). We realized though that Easter for 2019 isn’t until April 21st in 2019. And the following Friday won’t work b of FHs sched. We are catholic so that means it would be lent and we can’t have meat on Friday’s. 90%of our guests are catholic as well. So my first thought was April is out. But when we mention that to my FMIL she sees no problem with us or our guest eating meat for our wedding. She says it’s “just one day”. I don’t agree. I guess I’m just looking to see what everyone thinks.

Hi Amanda! That's a tough one!

You could always provide several vegetarian options for the wedding reception to accommodate all of your Catholic guests. Whether or not you or your guests decide to eat meat that day is a totally personal decision!

Do any Fridays in March or May work for you? It might be easier to just avoid Fridays during Lent!
