Shape wear for under wedding dress

Rachel, on May 18, 2022 at 9:54 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 3
Hi!
I’m getting married in September and am looking for some kind of bra for under my dress. I’m wearing an off the shoulder lace fit and flat gown with a sweetheart neckline. I’m a B cup and normally wouldn’t even wear a bra underneath but it’d be nice to have some lift for the day of. I would need something strapless since the straps on my gown are pretty off the shoulder. I’ve never been able to find a strapless bra that’s also a push up. I thought about maybe clear straps but I decided against it because you can almost always see them and I don’t want them to catch the light. I’ve tried the ones that stick to your skin and always end up sweating it off 5 mins into dancing. Any suggestions??Shape wear for under wedding dress 1

I'd suggest talking to whoever is doing your alterations about sewing cups into your dress. The back looks a bit open/ see through with the lace, so you probably won't want an actual bra with a strap that will show through. I had cups sewn into my prom dress back in the day, and between the structure of the bodice and the cups, I got a decent amount of lift from it.

Paige nailed it. You want bra cups sewn into the dress. When I worked in bridal, we sewed push up bra cups into also every dress we sold- it was a pretty standard alteration!

It may also be possible to sew-in parts of a pushup bra instead of tailor-provided cups.
