Shapewear for cut out dress

Melisa, on June 28, 2022 at 2:20 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 13
So I’m in a huge dilemma! I fell in love with a wedding dress and am now having second thoughts on purchasing it because I realized I won’t be able to wear any shapewear with it. The back is all open, down to my lower back and the sides are completely sheer down to my waist. I want something to hide my belly a bit but am not sure what to do. Anybody have any suggestions? I’ll attach a photo for better visual representation. What you see on the side picture is my strapless buds bra, otherwise it’s completely sheer under the lace Shapewear for cut out dress 1

What belly? 🧐 I think it looks fine. Since it’s sheer it’ll be hard to find something that you can wear and hide it. Maybe if you tried a white one, to see how it would look since the back and sides are open. Have you already got it altered?

Thanks guys! But I definitely have a little pooch that you can’t see in those pics and I’m just afraid once the dress is tailored to my actual size that you’ll be able to see it and I won’t have a way to hide it. I guess I’ll come down to it when the time comes! 😬

Girl!!!!! Love that body!!! You look great sis!!!! I was looking into undergarments as well and realized that because of my dress I won’t need a bra or won’t be able to wear any shape wear either. But you know what, it’s ok! The dress is beautiful and so are you, that’s the focus!

Stop it! You have no belly at all! 💙😂💙. You look outstanding. To your question though, my reception dress was similar to yours and I found a very low back corset that did the trick! Check out Carnival bustiers. You look amazing.

Also check out Skims. They have a line of "bridal" shape wear as well as ones that are specifically made for low back etc. They're also comfortable. I bought one a few months ago thinking - okay, I'll give it a shot cause while I never buy stuff just because its a celebrity's brand, I needed new shape wear and the reviews were good. Holy. Moly. Its so comfortable! It never folds down, it stays where it means to, it gives me a great smooth line, and I feel like I can breathe in it! I'm definitely going to be purchasing another one specifically for my dress. Also? Bonus - has a gusset crotch. Which you think, not needed. But it's one less thing to have to worry about.

I totally feel you! There was a dress that I loved but I couldn’t wear shapewear and the material in the front was the kind that could show every bump and see the outline of my belly button. I ended up going with a dress that had a low back so I couldn’t wear shapewear anyway but there was boning in the front and had 2-3 layers of dress so I felt more comfortable!

One of the reasons why I wanted to wear shapewear was to avoid thighs rubbing together!!!! Ouch!

Also recommend skims. if you get something to match your skintone it might not even be noticeable on the side. The back of the dress is definitely high enough to get away with a standard high waisted undergarment.

I wouldn't wear shapewear. The difference is negligible, and it's significantly more uncomfortable.

I have cutouts on the sides of my dress as well, and I got nude underwear that aren’t noticeable (good color match). Maybe if you get a nude shape wear, you might not see it? Another alternative is having a piece of fabric put in to cover the lower part of the cutout (the bottom triangle section) and hide the shapewear. It would change the look of the sides slightly, but could be nice? You could even have them put a piece of fabric in there just to see how you like it before ordering any shapewear. Just a thought! Very beautiful dress, and you look beautiful in it. 🤗🤗🤗
