I love these stories!!

My FH proposed on our cruise ship to the Bahamas, technically he did twice..he proposed as we were heading out of the room to depart the ship to another boat to get to one of the islands. We were getting ready for the day and as I was walking out he said I forgot something and when I turned aroud he was on 1 knee. We didn't dwell on the moment too much as the horn blew and we had to run (literally) down the stairs 10 flights! but when we got to the island he asked in the water again for photo purposes and timing. I had the ring on already and he got to finish his big speech.

John and I have been together for quite a while, we started dating when I was a senior in high school, and now I'm in my senior year of college. In my last semester of classes, I also had my senior recital to prepare for, aptly named "Love, and Other Things" and was comprised entirely of various love songs. Little did I know the show would end in a proposal! After coming off stage my fraternity serenaded me, we started taking pictures with my friends and family, and when John came up to take a picture of me he turned to me and said "You sounded so beautiful today, you have an amazing voice, and it's the only one I want to hear for the rest of my life". As cheesy as he was, I was in tears. It was so special, I really felt (and looked) like a princess!

The proposal

He planned a trip to Asheville, NC during my school break, the weekend of August 10th 2018. Asheville is a special city to both of us because that’s where we enjoyed our first vacation together. He also grew up going There with his parents on vacation. We stayed at the Biltmore Inn and he had an array of activities planned for us. Horseback riding, carriage ride, house tour, chihuly exhibit, wine tasting, etc. On Friday morning we headed to see the house. We walked up to see the Statue of goddess Diane and as we walked down from the hill I noticed he was walking funny. I asked if everything was okay and he said yes, that the grass was wet and he didn’t want to slip since he was wearing dress shoes. The grass was indeed wet so I bought his excuse. Then we were standing in front of the house admiring it and I hugging him. I could sense since he was nervous because his heart was beating really fast, so I asked him “is everything OK?”and he said yes. His excuse was that the sun was starting to come up and he was getting hot. Next thing I know, he gets down on one knee tells me how much he loves and admires me and that he wants me to be his wife. He pulls the ring box out of his sock (hence the funny walk down the hill) and there it was, a beautiful rose gold ring! Of course, I said yes And cried like a baby!!! It was the proposal of my dreams!!!

So, the way he proposed is not as grand and glamorous as you see in movies or in your dreams. So, it was Christmas day, and we were laying in bed, cuddling, watching a movie. I started falling asleep or getting ready to fall asleep when he got up and said "I'll be right back." I said "Okie" in a sleepy voice. I guess I must have fallen asleep because he woke me back up. "Gabi, wake up," gently shaking me. "Hmm, what is it?" I still had my eyes closed and I was so close to falling asleep lol he told me to open my eyes and when I did, there he was, on one knee, holding the ring box out, and just kind of looked at me. Before he could say anything, I just smiled and said "Yes!" He slipped the ring on my finger and apologized for it not being as grand as he wanted it or how I probably envisioned it. I told him don't be sorry, it was perfect. He kissed me on the forehead and I went to sleep. I woke up and thought that it was a dream so I looked at my hand, saw the ring on it and said "Oh, yay...it wasn't a dream" and honestly, I couldn't have asked for a better proposal or a better man to marry.

Proposal

I knew it was coming because I had signed for the ring when it arrived (she designed it with an online jeweler who mailed it to us signature required. So on my birthday I got dressed up just in case, same thing on our 5 year anniversary a couple weeks later, but nothing. The next weekend we were working a Con with our charity costuming group but had planned on a new couple's costume for part of our "off" time. She suggested we swing by the booth to show a couple people that wanted to see the new costumes and to get pics to post for other people that would be looking for them (since we had announced online that we were debuting them). We did a couple pics and she said hang on dont move I want to try one more and moved away a bit - I had a helmet with a semi-opaque on that was almost impossible to see through so I thought she was moving to a more action pose so I did as well but she was actually getting on one knee. The friend taking the pics for us realized I had no clue and told me that she got the shot and I could turn to Erin for help navigating. I turned and saw her and ripped the faceshield off so fast to look at her and hear what she was saying, though I really just blanked and started crying and nodding yes.

My fiancé Lazar proposed to me on a rainy day in Paris, France. Before meeting him, I was in a very abusive, confined relationship and had never really traveled before but I had always wanted to. Immediately after dating for a couple of months, Lazar and I planned many trips to Europe. By the time he proposed to me we had traveled to 7 countries (on a law student budget but nonetheless incredible). 2 years later my dream of seeing Paris had finally come true and I was just beyond excited to be there and of course to see the Louvre. He walked me to the center of the Louvre and while I was sort of in shock and so excited that I don't remember ever word, I do remember the words, I want to spend the rest of my life with you. He got down on one knee, asked me to marry him, and as a person who never cries, I just began balling crying. I thought to myself, I get to spend the rest of my life with my best friend, the man who treats me with every ounce of respect and love. I felt and will always feel so lucky. While at first thought the rain may not have been ideal, I thought everything was absolutely perfect.

On Christmas Eve Eve (Dec. 23), I planned a scavenger hunt for my fiancé to give him his Christmas gift. He always takes me out and buys me gifts; I thought it would be nice turning the tables and taking him out for once. I had the whole day scheduled with our favorite date locations (bowling, pizza, and ice cream). I created riddles for him to solve that brought us to a new destination. While deciding where to take him, I thought what better way to start the day than by going to Sunday morning mass. The church also happens to be where we met in elementary school. I never suspected that he had plans of his own. As mass ended and we headed to the car, he stopped me in front of the church and begin his speech. “It was at this very place where you first can into my life. Now we are back 12 years later so that I can tell you I want you in my life forever.” At this point I’m still oblivious to the reality of the situation! Then we proceeds to get down on one knee, and I finally realize it’s happening. He asks me to marry him and of course I said yes!

My Husband Proposed December 24,2014 and well we were young and stupid and the proposal was a hot mess. He did ask my dad and no one knew except I did and he kept delaying it and well let’s just say I suck lol. But July 2017 we went to Michigan which is the first place we vacationed and we took a sunset walk on the beach and he did it right that time. I had a feeling it was coming but it was so worth it.
