Sharing your ring on social media?

Brittany, on July 6, 2019 at 1:02 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 16
Hi ladies! I would love to get your personal thoughts on this. We got our engagement photos back and I am absolutely in love with them. I’ve already changed my profile picture to one of us. Now, I’ve heard some mixed feelings about posting your ring on social media, as it looks like your bragging about it. I love the photo that our photographer took of my ring, and was thinking about having it as my cover photo. However, I don’t want to come across as “bragging” or showing off my ring. Any thoughts about this? Here is the photo! I love it so much.

It’s perfectly fine to post pictures of your ring. You are excited and it’s beautiful! People shouldn’t judge you for that. I love mine. This was a professional picture of mine.

That’s an absolutely beautiful photo of your ring! Those are my thoughts exactly. If you love it, you should have every right to share that! Thanks so much!

People will always crap on something. Post it if you like the photos and anyone who doesn't like it can hit the unfollow button. You do you, show it off, be excited, you deserve it.

In a way I can see why people think that. Plus it gives guys more pressure to find the "instagram" ring. I dont see it as bad. My fiance picked it out and like anything we love, we show it off right? I dont go around flaunting it, but I like to show my man how happy and thankful I am he for getting for me.

Oh please... majority of people use social media to brag 😂 brag about vacation they went on, about their clothes/things, their houses, their amazing kids... So what’s one engagement ring 😆
On a more serious note, your social media profile is a reflection of a person you are (or of persona you want to project to the world), so posting about things you are excited about or things you love is just a natural part of it.

I put mine up on insta. I love it and my FH is super proud that he got it right (he stinks at picking out jewelry). I think you’re fine. It’s like what’s expected

I agree with this. Do what you please! I wouldn't, but I don't post much. People will have an opinion no matter what.

I posted mine, because I really love the picture. I never even thought of it as “bragging.”I just thought of it as artsy.

Before I got engaged, I would actually get a little irked with brides-to-be who did NOT share pictures of their rings. I have always loved looking at engagement/wedding rings Smiley smile

I don't see anything wrong with posting your ring on social media! Personally, I like to be super private so I haven't posted anything on my e-ring

When I see people post they got engaged or change their status on fb to engaged and search for the ring picture. I love looking at rings. I would say post away. That picture and your ring are gorgeous

I think it's perfectly fine to post pictures of your ring. The only time I take it as bragging is when people post the specs/cost of their ring or flood their page with only pictures of their ring.

Your ring and that picture of it are beautiful!

You shouldn't feel like you have to hide your happiness. Social media is an outlet for your family, friends, and acquaintances to see what is going on in your life! So BRAG BRAG BRAG, girl you are getting married!
