She ordered the wrong color... Infinity Dress?

Colleen, on June 27, 2013 at 9:11 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 15

Long story short my moh I ordered her dress it came the right color now my bm ordered hers in ivory and it looks white.. not off white. So originally I was thinking to make a sash, however I googled photos of white wedding dress and ivory bridesmaid. I hated it plus with the purple moh it would look like a freak show sash or no sash.

Michael and I are thinking of ordering them the infinity dress they liked that idea a lot the girls did, have you guys ever had one do they look okay not to casual? There is one look I would like them to wear but open to the others. I know that they can be a pain to do but the seller said it would be 2-3 weeks to get to me but that would be enough time to figure it out.

What color was she supposed to order? or are you saying that the dress arrived looking different then what you had in mind?

i think of infinity dresses as more casual but there are some people on etsy who fancy them up by upgrading the materials. if you are having a more laid back wedding i don't think it'll matter.

She made a mistake ordering and ordered ivory instead of grape. I was going to originally made two sashes for the grape ivory ribbon and peacock feathers and the ivory purple ribbon and peacock feathers.

We aren't going to ask them to buy a new dress but I don't want another white dress in our wedding photos.

It is laid back I just seen some photos wear they added brooch rhinestone to the infinity dress might do that.

This is no help, but... how the heck does she make that mistake?!

Was the dress expensive? Could it be worn again?

She spent over 100 for it but nothing to outrageous.

Michael thinks she clicked the color scrolled with the mouse and not the bar and it went down to ivory, makes sense.

She might not be able to wear it again herself we are thinking maybe she can sell it.

Michael brought up that I could wear it as a reception dress if mine gets to heavy but I would like to wear my gown the whole night, but it was a good thought.

Can it be dyed the correct color?

To answer the infinity dress question, my BM's are wearing them in grey (Von Vonni using a living social thing so they were only $60). I think they look nice. But for reference, they are all wearing the same dress and while I don't think they'll look casual, they're definitely not as formal as others. But accessories can help with that.

She brought up herself dying it it has a tulle like outer layer which would dye fine but it is satin underneath that and if I know right that won't dye.

Could you wear it for a bridal shower or a bachelorette party?

We had the bridal shower last weekend but the bachelorette party might work if we go to them before the wedding. She lives out of state. But that is definitely something I haven't thought of!!

Hi date twin. Is there anyway to return her dress for the grape colored one and rush order it? Maybe take it to a bridal salon in your area to see if they could dye it. Or sell it online while looking for a new one? You still have 51 days until the wedding, so I would contact the original dress seller and see what you can do about it.

It can be dyed, fabrics are typically dyed but you would want to get a professional to do it. Otherwise if the sash isn't going to work then you might just need a new dress. I would of still tried to see if the dress can be returned.

I definitely say that she shouldn't wear ivory to your wedding. There are some good suggestions here. Especially have her try calling the store she ordered it from and see if they'll replace it. Some places have wonderful customer service.

Can she contact the store she ordered it from and just say the wrong colour was accidentally ordered? I got my dresses from David's Bridal and when I thought my BM's dress was possibly the wrong colour, they were very helpful saying that they could exchange it. Is that not possible here? Would the dress take too long to get here?

Yes it would take to long they have already begun making it and refuse to switch so I will never do business with them again. She ordered it at the latest they could be ordered to arrive in time so =/ you live and you learn =) not much we can do now at first i though she was joking.
