Shoe changes/alternate bride entrance?

Brittney, on January 7, 2023 at 11:43 AM Posted in Planning 0 5
Hey everyone! 2024 bride here! So my venue consists of a gorgeous stairwell (it’s such a wow factor) for me to come down, however, I’m strongly debating on coming down those stairs in a slipper/sandal/no heel then changing into another shoe for pics/reception OR should I go with the alternate entrance? Meeting my father in the middle then walking down the aisle with him in a normal heel? Does it matter what shoe goes under the wedding dress? What would you all suggest?

I wore white converses and guests had no idea. In fact, my husband's uncle didn't believe his aunt that I was wearing converses so I showed him my feet and he was surprised.

You're welcome! I loved it because I didn't have to worry about tripping and they were comfortable for dancing.

I'm getting married at the foot of a mountain. There's some uneven terrain so I purchased some silver and rhinestone foldable flats from Amazon.

The only potential issue there is that your dress could be hemmed for the heel and then wearing flats down the stairs your dress would be too long. So then the possibility of tripping returns. I would find a shoe that you feel comfortable wearing and walking in the whole time!! Low heels are great for that, chunky heels too, as are flats. If your dress is long your guests probably won't even see your feet so its not a huge deal! Just have it decided prior to alterations so the length is right
