"Shoe game"

Has anyone played the shoe game at their wedding or are you planning to? If so when did you play it or when do you think a good time slot would be? Just debating it right now after seeing the viral video.

Cute at a RD, engagement party, or couples shower.

    At a wedding however...? PASS.

We played the shoe game because it was the one thing DH really wanted. We did it right after dinner before any dancing started. Our crowd enjoyed it.

I did not enjoy watching this as a guest. Most people could not see, anyways. It took 20 minutes and was boring.

Even if your guests were polite enough to pretend the like it, they probably do not. Please, no shoe game.

Please don't do any games at the reception. It totally kills the vibe.

I think the shoe game is fun for a smaller/intimate group that knows the couple well. It's harder at a bigger wedding to make it as fun because some people only know half of the couple really well. It's also a good rehearsal dinner/engagement party game.

I went to three weddings this summer that all did this and it really broke up the energy of the party.

It just seems so stupid and self-indulgent. Your guests don't care which of you thinks which of you two are the better driver, cook, etc.

I'd skip this. Dancing and open bar are my favorite parts of a wedding.

My mom wanted us to do the shoe game but I nixed it. Besides our first dance and best man/moh speech, we didn't want anything that would take away from guests hanging out, drinking, and dancing.

I think that we are going to do it at the rehearsal or the reception. I've seen it done at one reception and everyone seemed to enjoy it. It was just the DJ asking questions (the guests didn't have to do anything) and they did it while we were at the end of dinner. Nobody was dancing yet so it didn't disrupt that.

The last wedding I went to played this game. It was more of a relaxed brunch themed wedding, everyone thought it was really cute and had some good laughs. I guess it's a know your crowd kind of thing. If it's full of "snobby boo bodies" then they wont appreciate it.

I love the shoe game! I've never seen it played in person, but I went on YouTube and watched a bunch of random couples at weddings play it and I was cracking up laughing and these were strangers, people I didn't even know! Lol. So I plan to do it at my wedding. My sister is hosting it right at the end of her speech (she's my MOH). It only takes about 5 minutes and all of the videos I've seen online, all of the guests are laughing and we're really engaged. I'm super excited to play!
