Shoes?

I am the SHOE QUEEN (literally, it’s my thing) so my wedding shoes were the first thing I bought once we decided to get married.

However, because I am exactly the same height as him with no shoes on… he started making a big deal about me towering over him in heels (which I definitely fought over) in photos. I compromised and purchased some flats. I figured you can only see the tips of em anyways so it’s a small compromise and it’s only acceptable for me to tower over him when you can see the stilts I’m walking on.

My wedding shoes are platform jellies - yes sparkly plastic…



and today I found all these reception shoes at Macys $70-100

I'm totally undecided on shoes and jewelry at the moment! 🤦‍♀️ I'll probably wear shoes that have a block heel on them, but no clue what color shoe, or if they'll have any embellishments, etc. I'll also probably bring a fancy pair of flats or something more comfortable than heels to wear for the reception too, but I haven't given it much thought yet.

View Quoted Comment Yes! Most importantly. I am considering bedazzled converse for comfort reasons. I have a high arch so it’s so hard for me to wear heels if I don’t have the extra support in the shoe. Plus I don’t want to be barefoot if the heels start to hurt my feet.

OAN: how did you pick out your jewelry? Are you wearing a necklace, bracelet and earrings?

I've browsed Etsy a bit, but I'm totally stuck on jewelry! I'm going to do a bracelet, necklace, and earrings, but I'm torn between choosing something simple or something fancy. What are your thoughts? How did you decide on what jewelry to do?

Which she’s also taller lol so I will be the shortest - I think the pictures will look fine if she’s taller. They’ll know you’re the bride.

View Quoted Comment I think it just kinda depends on your hair and dress. For me, the front of the dress will have a design so I don’t think a necklace is necessary. I am not big on jewelry at all, I’d wear some stud earrings and be done lol - but I might consider something fancy for earrings since I don’t plan to wear a bracelet. If my hair is down I might wear the dangling earrings and if it’s up (since I haven’t decided how I’m getting my hair) I’ll prob wear some that are cute but not long. If that makes sense.

I'm wearing these babies for our wedding 😍 I definitely wanted to wear colored shoes, and teal is one of our colors (and my favorite), so I'll wear them again at some point. The way the heel gets wider at the bottom makes them a bit more comfy than normal stiletto heels too. They also pulled a bit bluer on the blue/ green spectrum, so I'm counting them as my something blue lol. I might switch into Rothy's after all the important reception moments are over. FH is over a foot taller than me, so I need all the help I can get lol.

I'd highly recommend buying shoes that aren't marketed as "wedding" shoes because retailers jack up the prices since they're for a special occasion that people are willing to spend more on than they would for "regular" shoes.
