We got engaged on December 7, 2018 and will be getting married exactly one year later. With my fiancé’s job in baseball we have to do a winter wedding so it was either that or wait two years, which we did not want to do. That being said, we are pretty much finished with planning! We wanted to get all of the major things done before he left for two months for spring training in February so we didn’t wait around to start planning!

Long - we just got engaged and plan to get married next October, so about 18 months! But we're paying for everything ourselves, so it gives us time to save up.

It's been 5 years so I guess technically it's a long engagement Lol! But we are doing it next summer. So I have a little over a year.

Long! Our engagement will last 21 months before we’re married. We’re having a destination wedding so I wanted to give my guests enough time to get their coins together.

Minimum 6 months, especially if your paying cash and not borrowing money. 6 months helps you wait it out for bargains. you can take your time and compare prices. Every paycheck i purchased something. starting with plane tickets, deposit on honeymoon and wedding website fee. when something i wanted was at a better price, i snatched it right up. Got two gowns, both on sale for what most pay for one gown. (changing into a more dance appropriate dress). And I could research alternatives to things i really wanted but couldn't stomach paying what some vendors were asking. Like I really wanted menus and programs but they can be pricey. I didn't want cheap looking DIY ones either. I found a nice kind of DIY alternative on Etsy.com and went to my local print shop to have them printed on premium cardstock. Saved me tons and because I had time, I could research the alternatives. You settle less for what you want when you give yourself a little more time and you're less stressed out.

Depending on who you ask, it could be short, but it seems long to me! We will have been engaged 10 months when we get married. It seems long because one of my brothers was engaged for 4 months, and the other was engaged for 6 months. Anything over 6 months seems long to me because of how short theirs were!
