Short(ish) hair updo - pictures appreciated

My hair is super thin and I usually wear it as a straight bob, a bit longer than my chin. It also pretty much refuses to hold curls, so while they would be a logical choice for my hair length, I don't want to end up with lanky hair three hours into the reception. So are there any brides here with "my" sort of hair who rocked or will rock an updo? If so, do you have any pictures or inspiration? I would love to see what's possible and I very much lack experience and imagination in that department, and Instagram isn't really helping with my hair insecurities...

But I'd still love too see some real life photos or read something from other brides, to find how they looked like and if it held. I mean, it may look amazing in a styled shoot, but how did it feel and look live?

Yes, I understand... ;-) I normally have a bob like you I guess, but before my wedding I decided to let my hair grow for 2 years to be sure to have a chignon...;-) So it held ;-)
