Should i add sleeves?! 1
I am a december 2022 bride, and went dress shopping to “just look” and found my dress!! The only thing is, after i bought it I let myself get in my own head about it being “weird” that I don’t have sleeves doe a winter wedding! Everyone has told me it is fine because it is not like I am getting married outside, but I can’t help it! Would it be totally weird if I got sleeves added? I believe the store said it would be possible, but I’m not sure. Will it look weird or will they be able to make it look totally seamless? does the dress look perfect as is and I am just overthinking because of the stereotypes of what you “have to have” for a winter wedding?!

You look gorgeous in your dress, and don't need sleeves unless you want them or like them!

My wedding is supposed to be held (covid willing) in a somewhat transitional season where it is likely to get quite chilly as it cools into the evening so like you, I've debated sleeves. The things I considered when making my decision were:

how much of the time will be outside?

how cold do you generally get (and don't forget you'll likely be hyped on adrenaline and probably some bubbly too)

do you like the look of sleeves?

I am unlikely now to get them afterall, since we might need to postpone our wedding, and then sleeves would be too hot! Either way, I bought myself a beautiful cream cashmere wrap and had my new initials embroidered onto it, so if I don't get sleeves and feel chilly, I have something extra to put on.

I think whatever you choose, you'll love the outcome - but do it because you love the look and feel or are a chilly reptile like me - don't do it because you think you HAVE to for a winter wedding, or that those are the 'rules' - or even that it's more practical! it's your day and you can have whatever you want - and this is NOT the day to go for a practical, sensible dress, let's be real!

Both of my dresses are strapless and we're having a January wedding! I'm actually going to ask my seamstress if she can add off the shoulder sleeves like yours because I like the look of them lol.

I don't think you need sleeves, and that your dress looks amazing on you as is! Choose what YOU want and what'll make you the most comfortable, not what's expected.

I think you shouldn't add sleeves to your dress as it looks fine as is. Plus with you having off the shoulder straps on your dress I think if you added sleeves it would restrict your movement too much to where it might become uncomfortable and maybe frustrating.

I would say don't add sleeves. I am also having a winter wedding (Feb 2022) and am wearing a sleeveless dress. I plan on getting a nice wrap or coat to wear with my dress for when I am entering and leaving the venue to keep me warm but otherwise I am not concerned. Don't feel pressured to change just because of social norms!

Don't do it. . .adding sleeves will change the look and possible structure of the dress. You love it the way it is so keep it that way. If you are worried about a "winter weather" issue thing about a shawl or stole.

It’s beautiful ❤️! I tried sleeves and hated it anyway. To constricting. You said yes to this dress!

I think your dress is stunning with the off the shoulder look. If you plan on taking any pics outside just get a cute shawl or coat! I don't think you need sleeves just because of the season.

I agree with the previous posts. Your dress looks amazing and you look gorgeous in it. I think the sleeves would change the style and you might end up not liking the dress. You should keep it as it is!

I think you look amazing in the dress and adding sleeves might make it look as an add on and I think wouldn't look as amazing as it does now
