should i care what color shoes my bridesmaids wear? cause i dont.

Angela, on October 29, 2013 at 3:15 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 33

These are the bridesmaid dresses, I dont really care honestly what color or style shoe they wear. (of course I hope no one shows up in a stripper shoe) but should I be putting some guidlines out there? Or should I have them match altogether? The shoes will be showing obviously and I dont want it to be sloppy, any suggestions ?

I want them to be the same color but I think it's fine if you don't care.

No. If you're ambivalent, let them choose. They'll be thankful.

I asked my girls to wear black shoes. Their dresses are black, and long, so I don't really care what they look like; I just know everyone already had black shoes.

Maybe give them a color-range choice (like I said silver) and If you don't want them showing up in stripper shoes, then just may say (using my silver as an example)

" Ok ladies now that you have all seen the dress lets talk shoes, I think a silver shoe would look great with this dress, but come on now girls let keep this classy and keep the stripper heals for the clubs! LOL"

Edit: Those dresses are super cute!

I didn't care about the style of the shoe either. Their comfort was more important to me, being that they'll be in those shoes all night.

I did, however, ask them to wear one color, and it needed to be solid, ONLY because I didn't want them coming in with the same type of dress and completely different shoes, I thought it would look odd.

Having them wear one color is an idea, and maybe they can choose their style.

Nope - i couldn't bring myself to care. two of my bridesmaids used this as an excuse to get a cute new pair of shoes and my MOH, who has been in like 7 weddings this year, can just wear something she already has

I didn't care about shoe- colour/heel it was up to them. Apparently that was not ok, and they made me give them guidelines.

I didn't care until I fell in love with a shoe and all the girls were up for wearing the same shoe. I originally said black and could be flat or a heel. I then found shoes that were not expensive that complimented my shoes. Looking back however, I should have stuck with my original plan. My MOH would have gone with a flat or very very short heel as she pretty much never wears heels. All the girls had plenty of time to break in their shoes. My MOH (who is my aunt) was so nervous that her legs were shaking and being in heels she's not used to, went down...during the ceremony (face to palm) luckily she was ok and it was pretty funny since she didn't get hurt (except maybe her pride). So go with your gut but guidelines are always a good idea Smiley smile

As someone who has been bridesmaid to a laisse-faire bride: guidelines are good. Otherwise there are too many choices and you worry that they are all wrong. Color and general heel height or style should be sufficient.

I'd at least ask them to wear a certain color, as long as it's a common color. I think with a knee length dress, it might look off if they are all in different colors.

I just told them any pair of black shoes, they could wear one they already own. Didn't, but they had the option. I also let them know that both the Best Man and GM were tall, so if they wanted to go tall with heel height, not a big deal. They both probably went 2-3" on heel height.

I would atleast give them a color option just because you don't want someone showing up in a red shoe. I think any style of black shoe would look great. It would be unique for them each to have a different style of shoe

I told my girls to just wear black shoes, because everyone has a pair of black dressy shoes. I didnt want to make them buy shoes just for the wedding. I've had to do that in the past as a BM and didnt appreciate that I had to buy shoes I would never wear again on top of the dress which I would never wear again.

I don't care about their shoes. One even wants to go barefoot. I'm like, whatever.

I personally don't care what shoes my bridesmaids are wearing because they will be in long sarees and will be covered anyway. For a shorter dress, maybe sticking with one color as a general guideline would look nice. But end of day, it's your day, and if you don't care about those details- your bridesmaids are lucky Smiley smile

My girls are wearing the same dresses! Ours are in Espresso, with Cherry accents Smiley smile If you don't care about their shoes, then that's fine. I kinda care, because I'd like them to be similar, so I asked them what they thought and they all agreed nude color shoes would be good. I figured that works for me :p

I didn't care..honestly it's one more expense they have to incur. Technically if you require a certain color then you should buy them..I'd say whatever they have..most girls have a silver or black dress shoe that would look fine.

Someone just asked me the same thing. I don't care if they wear bed slippers! I told them to wear whatever they have that's comfortable.

I could care less about their shoes. I just told them to try and have a nude or tan color, but don't care about style. The dress are long so people wont really see their shoes. I just want them to be comfortable

I would give them some sort of guideline and as always, check a month or so before the big day so they have time to get something different if you dont like their choice
