Should I change for the wedding reception or not?

Fabiola, on September 20, 2017 at 10:32 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 19

My wedding is in two weeks! I'm still debating if I should change for the wedding reception or should I stay on my wedding gown the whole time?????

I think it depends mostly on your comfort level and preference. If you can dance and move around comfortably in your wedding gown, you can wear that to the reception. Even if you can dance and move comfortably but decide you want to change, that's okay too. I know some people have bought a wedding gown then end up finding a dress later on they love that they want to wear to the reception.

I think it depends on what you're changing into. If it is another formal dress, then go for it.

Personally, I'm staying in my dress the whole night. I love it and it's comfy, which is one of the reasons I picked it. I am changing my shoes though. I bought Toms that match the BM's dresses for the reception.

I think it's up to you but for me, in wearing the most expensive piece of clothing I will ever own as long as I can.

I'm not, even though my dress has a corset back and boning and it's going to be hard to wear to wear it 12 hours lol but I'm determined, I didn't spend all this money and time looking for it to wear it for just the ceremony and a few photos.

Plus it's another expense to go and buy another dress, cause it can't just be a regular dress neither.

Ultimately up to you of course, but I personally really don't like dress changes. Most people spend 1k+ on a dress to wear for one day, so it really doesn't make sense to cut that time in half and get yet another expensive dress. Get your dress bustled if needed and wear it all night.

With only two weeks to go, it would be hard to find another fancy dress that you could get tailored in time, so I assume you're talking about casual. I'm not a huge fan of the change either.

I would just stay in your wedding dress, unless it's like giant and impossible to move in, but that's your call.

I spent a pretty penny on my dress and there is no way I'm taking it off for another one! I love it too much and I only get to wear it for one day, why waste it!

Depends on comfort level - but I paid a hell of a lot of money for my dress and I'm going to get as much use out of is as I can!

I was on the fence about it too but I didn't have time to get a second dress. But I was just as happy wearing my dress all night .

Stay in the gown. You get one night with it.

For me there are pros and cons and the cons outweigh the pros. I will be staying in mine all night.

I'm staying in my dress. I am not spending this much money just to take it off. Shoot I might just wear it to go grocery shopping, to kids school events, to anything and everywhere I feel it. lol In all seriousness though, it's one day and even if it's not totally comfortable, you're going to want as many pics in that dress as possible.

Totally a self preference! I for one, am spending as long as I can in my most expensive item of clothing!
