Should i do a makeup trial?

Megan, on September 3, 2019 at 9:03 PM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 9
I already know I’m not doing a hair trial, but I’m not sure about makeup. The person who I want to do my makeup has done it twice before (three times if you count the first trial). Once for senior pictures and once for prom. Both times were absolutely beautiful. I was talking to my mom about this and I’m just not sure if I should do a makeup trial. We both kinda feel like maybe, but at the same time, it’s obviously an extra expense and we’re just not sure if it’s necessary. Any advice? Thanks!

If it was your first encounter with the makeup artist I would say yes, but since you’ve already used this person multiple times I would pass. Unless you want some very new and unique style of makeup.

Since she’s done it before and you like it you should be ok unless you want a different look.

Unless you’re going for a totally different look, I don’t think it’s necessary.

I agree with you and your momma 😊 I wouldn't think it’s necessary unless it’s included in your cost with her (but you said it’s an extra expense)!

If you're confident in the makeup artists' work, skipping a trial should be fine!

If you're having bridal portraits done, you could get your makeup done then and use it as your trial, and then you'd have your makeup done for the portraits.

It sounds like you're comfortable with her work. You can certainly do a trial if you like, but I don't think it's necessary.

I had used my HMUA 3 other times before my wedding but I still did a trial. I wanted to see how the look I wanted would actually look when it was done and also how it would translate in photographs. I coincided my trial with one of my fittings and it was so exciting to see it all together. I'm glad I did because it got me really excited for my overall look for the big day.
