Should I get a wedding planning book!

FutureMrs.Baskette, on May 26, 2017 at 2:09 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 32

I'm wondering if a wedding planning book is the best way to go. It's gonna be a smaller budge wedding and don't feel I need an actual WP. I have a binder I'm just writing down list and information in but I wasn't sure if a WPB was a better way to go for organizing , and specific d details.

Did anyone else get a book and if so did you like it?

Did you not have a book and wish you did?

I received one as a gift. I think I tried to use it, but it ended up just collecting dust because it was pretty big.

I used my regular planner and added a wedding section in it and that worked much better since I could customize/organize it however I wanted.

I thought about it but I spent $65 on a regular planner earlier this year I only used for about a month so I know I will probably let a wedding planner fall behind as well.

I did make a binder though that has dividers for budget/timeline, venues, attire, flowers, photographers, etc. I'm using it to print collages if things I've found online that I like so that I have something to easily find and show potential vendors when discussing the wedding plans. It will also be where I keep all of my printed receipts and contracts.

I ordered one from the knot and it has proved helpful with organization, questions to ask vendors, checklists, etiquette and style inspiration. I forget how much it cost and I skipped a few items that didn't pertain to us, but overall I've found it to be a good resource.

Someone gave me one and I didn't end up using it because I already knew what to do.

I found mine to be useless. It also had some not so great tips on etiquette (tiered reception). I regret the $15 I spent on it.

I have one. The first week I briefly read through it, and now is being used to store the contracts, and to clutter our coffee table. I suggest keep using the binder for storing your contracts, and use the WW checklist and this forum if you have etiquette questions.

If you are on a budget, wedding gmail account with google docs and email + a standard three ring with pockets is more than enough

I got the Knot wedding planner binder. It's been helpful for me, but I am one of those people who needs everything written out.

I created my own binder. There are a lot of helpful (and free) printables that you can download from Pinterest to create your own.

I bought some things at Walmart and made one myself. I used a binder, notebook complete with table of contents, calendar and post it notes glued in. It has helped me stay organized, along with WW. I can post photos if it would be helpful.

One of my best friends bought me the one from the Knot and I'll be honest, I use google docs a heck of a lot more often. Having it digitally has helped my FH really know what is going on in the planning process rather than him be super confused by the binder.

I got a planner on clearance for $10, and it's been such a help for me. I'm a total Erin Condren girl though.
