My cousin, sister, and mom took me to get my nails done for the wedding today, and I think I’m disappointed with how they turned out. I decided to try something different because I didn’t want to do the usual French tips, but I feel like the heart doesn’t look very good. My mom thinks they’re too short, and that I should go get acrylics so that my nails will be longer for hand shots. But I hate acrylic nails. If anything, I would prefer to just go to a different salon and see if they can match my ring fingers. What should I do?
I think they look pretty, but its up to you! I have long natural nails so im doing that with a pinky nude color and my MIL asked why not get French tip? I HATE French tip.... lol.
Do what you want!! You gotta look at the pictures for the rest of your life.
If you don’t like how the heart looks you can always go to another salon. You have to do what will make you happy for your wedding. Those pictures you’ll see for many years.
I would get them redone and chose a design/color you are actually happy with. You do don't want to be disappointed every time you look down at your names.
Don't get acrylics if you don't like them. All you need is a different design, one that doesn't have glitter at the cuticle line. You can do the glitter at the nail tip like a french but without the white. It may be difficult to pull off a heart that's actually recognizable on such a short nail.
If you're not happy I'd say get it redone! Start at the shop you got them done and let them know you're not happy. If that doesn't work I'd try a new shop or look for nail decals.
I agree that if you're not happy you should definitely go back! Also if you want more length but no acrylics, you can get tips put on with gel or dip powder nails. I have tips on two of my nails because they broke, but I didn't want to cut all of my other ones down. Just another option!
IMO, the heart looks rushed and messy. I would try going back to the salon you got your nails done and tell them you aren’t happy with the way they turned out. Or go to another salon. You definetely want to be happy with your nails on your wedding day, especially with close up photos of your hands.
Look into dip tips! I HATE acrylics and I love dip tips! They are much thinner and you honestly can’t tell the difference between them and your natural nail and they can be a more natural length and shape. Also, I agree it looks rushed. I’d get them redone.
I think they look pretty but maybe not special enough for the wedding. I agree with you about the french tip. My mother and FMIL asked me about that too and I said no. I get tips on shorter nails and get the acrylic dip powder. I've been doing that for the last 6 months and I love it. You don't have to worry about polish chipping or anything because it's the color of the powder. You can choose whatever length you're comfortable with too.
I'm personnaly not a fan of the gold on the bottom of the nails with your nails being short. It throws the look off. Beautiful color nail polish though!
If your not happy with them now they will bother you during the wedding. You dont want to keep looking down at your nails and wondering what are people thinking.
She was already annoyed when I asked for a lighter color pink than what she had originally. So I just didn’t have it in me to say anything else. I just hate to go and get them redone, because my cousin paid for them without me knowing!
Thanks everyone! I’m not comfortable going back to that salon, so I’ll try to look elsewhere while I’m out tomorrow. I think I’m going to opt for a similar design design, but longer nails, and without the heart. I just don’t want to change it completely since my cousin spent so much money!
If you’re having any kind of negative emotions about your nails, get them fixed. Even if you kind of like it, that’s not enough to keep them on your big day. I suggest maybe googling/Pinterest searching for ideas for nails before committing to another design to avoid not loving the next one too.

I would definitely consider sns or dip powder with an added tip! The sns helps with nail growth and they last a REALLY long time!

I have definitely spent a lot of time doing that this evening! Unfortunately, this design was also from Pinterest! It didn’t turn out anything like the inspiration picture, and she also cut my nails down, which I didn’t want either.
