My cousin, sister, and mom took me to get my nails done for the wedding today, and I think I’m disappointed with how they turned out. I decided to try something different because I didn’t want to do the usual French tips, but I feel like the heart doesn’t look very good. My mom thinks they’re too...
My cousin, sister, and mom took me to get my nails done for the wedding today, and I think I’m disappointed with how they turned out. I decided to try something different because I didn’t want to do the usual French tips, but I feel like the heart doesn’t look very good. My mom thinks they’re too short, and that I should go get acrylics so that my nails will be longer for hand shots. But I hate acrylic nails. If anything, I would prefer to just go to a different salon and see if they can match my ring fingers. What should I do?

To me from a far it looks strange like there is something on your nails, the color in the back matches your skin to closing which is making the gold look like it’s not supposed to be there.
You obviously are having seconds thoughts and it’s supposed to be a day when you feel perfect.

Oh no! I’m sorry to hear that..it’s always suckish when something doesn’t come out the way you had hoped. I would recommend maybe getting tips..you can always get them removed after the wedding day.

You should do what you like! Sleep on it and if you still don’t like the heart, then go to another salon and get another manicure. I don’t think you should do acrylic or French tips since it sounds like that’s not what you want.

I think that you should have them redone. The gold at the bottom makes it appear- imo, from afar- as if your cuticles are thick.
I DO like the gold Heart idea, but I agree that it looks a bit rushed. But maybe doing that Heart and on an opalescent or white sparkly background would be ok? Kind of the white colour I have right now( see pix) it's OPI Hello Kitty one...

I have been an acrylic nails fan for 20yrs and they have been fine for me thru the time I have had them. My nails were ok when I took a 1.5yr break also.

I am very sorry that they cut them down and didn't do a good job on the design.
I agree that going to another salon- unless they will redo them for no charge or less charge- is a better idea. Find one that is HIGHLY rated in design, not just a high rating for the salon. That can be hard! My girl can't do 90% of what I want- Damn you Pinterest!! Lol- but she is Wonderful at the acrylic and they LAST! As does the polish. But there's a place about 45min away that is ehhh on acrylics but EPIC with design! So for Super special occasions I'll go to her to get THE desgin( & nails).

    Soery- hope that helped...

I am personally for team acrylics, but that's because i am comfortable with them! I am also with you on thinking that french tips can be kind of overdone/basic (while still classic)... If you don't love them, get them redone! Here are some pictures of my wedding nail inspo:

I agree with the heart, I'd try to fix it and just match them all! You can also do fake tips & not have a french tip? I do agree, longer nails look way better in pictures.

Thank you to everybody who commented! I went to a different salon, and even though he didn’t seem to add much length with the dip powder, I am still much happier with them!

Not to bring up a dead thread, but I just want to thank you all for encouraging me to get my nails redone. I looked at them this morning and just smiled because of how much I love them. I probably would have just dealt with nails I didn’t like if it weren’t for you all!

They definitely look better. The previous ones look more like prom nails and these look more sophisticated.

Side note the dip will not give you more length unless the fake tips are put on under. You can use the same tips they use with acrylic but they would put the dip on top instead of acrylic.

Ah, that’s good to know, thank you! I asked him about it twice and he told me yes twice, so I guess there’s a communication issue!
