Should i Invite My Childhood Best friend to be in my wedding

Carina, on June 28, 2023 at 2:46 PM Posted in Planning 0 3

Hi All,

(Sorry I've Been Asking Questions Alot)

I Have a solution to my uneven numbers was to add my childhood best friend as a groomsman. Now the only problem is we've not been close lately as he went away to college. My Fiancé and I have decided to add people to our wedding party regardless was side or gender they are on. Example I have 2 of his girl cousins as bridesmaids.

Me and this friend have known each other since we were 3, I consider him family even though we've been distant. How do I go about asking him to be a part of it?

Numbers don't have to be even. Look at some google images of uneven wedding parties. A good photographer will balance things out really well.

Also you don't have to divide the wedding party by gender. Is your FI really close to this friend? It would be awkward if he barely knows him. If you want him, have him on your side?

Friends don't come in matched sets.

Completely agree with Jacks. There is no need to have your sides be even. And there is definitely no need to add one of your friends to your fiancés side. Simply choose the people you are the closest with, and leave it at that.

Uneven numbers are not any sort of problem that needs a solution. Your wedding party should consist of those that deserve the honor. It isn't a spot to be filled and friends aren't props. If you haven't been close to this childhood buddy lately you've answered your own question. I agree it would be weird for your FI to have him on his side.
