Should i Postpone My Wedding?

Elizabeth , on March 30, 2020 at 7:56 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 9
I’m stuck in a dilemma and don’t know what to do! My wedding as of now is scheduled for August 1st 2020. With everything going on idk if I should keep it or wait. The state where one of my bridesmaids live have already placed stay at home orders until June 10th!! My venue is already booking up quickly now for next year due to others rescheduling or booking events and they’re are no dates available for the rest of this year! Should I just postpone it now and be safe and at least be guaranteed my date or an earlier one for next year? Or should I wait until closer to my date and possibly risk not being able to reschedule for the date we want?

Maybe call your venue... see if you can reserve a “plan b date”

    Hi Elizabeth,

I'm sorry you're having to think about postponing your August wedding on top of planning your big day. Smiley ring
I agree with the recommendations above. While this is definitely an uncertain time, it seems like plenty of August couples are waiting to make postponement decisions. Of course, everyone's situation is different, so it never hurts to be proactive about plan B! Reaching out to your venue to determine options may be the most helpful first step.

You also aren't alone right now! ❤️ Other August couples are discussing their COVID-19 concerns here: I need you, August 2020 brides

I’m in Georgia as well and have been struggling with postponing. We’re in phase 1 and still ticking up. Social distancing will be around and will make an impact at ones wedding. Plus being in large gatherings will increase your chances of getting COVID. Still I have a tiny bit of hope but have plan B in the works.
