Should i Postpone?

Michelle, on December 14, 2020 at 6:51 PM Posted in Planning 0 6
I'm supposed to be getting married in early June in New Jersey. My wedding reception will be primarily indoors with an outdoor cocktail hour. We have a guest list of about 220.

With news of the vaccine, do you think I should keep this date OR postpone? It is important to me that I am able to invite everyone on my guest list. I'm hearing conflicting stories, some say vaccines will be rolled out to the general public in NJ by then, whereas some think it's calling it too close. I'm just looking for some perspective. Thanks!

I would still plan for your original date for now, though definitely start coming up with a backup plan. Talk with your vendors about putting a soft hold on a backup date, and/or come up with a plan for downsizing your guest list if you don't want to postpone. I recommend that you make a decision by end of March/early April on whether to switch to the backup plan, or continue on as planned.

Hi, fellow NJ bride! I would keep your date for now. I think it's too soon to make that call, especially since Murphy says that he think anyone who wants the vaccine should be able to get it by the beginning of May. Plus a lot of venues won't let you postpone until 6 weeks out anyway.

I don't see an issue with keeping your date.

I would keep your date for now and wait a couple more months before making a decision, but definitely make sure you have a plan B in place.

Vaccines start Tuesday morning in Newark, NJ.

I think you should keep your date, but maybe think about how to cut your guest list if you have to, how to go completely outdoors, and other "what ifs" - just so you have the peace of mind.

That said, I think June is going to be a lot different, here, than this past June. I don't think it will be "normal" yet... but I think it'll be closer to that.

I would continue to plan right now, June is too far away to make a decision right now in my opinion because anything can happen!
