Should i resend invites to guests who Rsvpd no before covid reschedule?

Vanessa, on July 5, 2021 at 6:23 PM Posted in Planning 0 6
So.... Before I was able to reschedule our wedding date due to COVID, some guests RSVPD no. I’m inclined to not resend invites to those guests, since we are no longer in touch (coworkers whom I don’t work with anymore) and plus... I have additional guests wanting plus ones that would put me over the budget. What should I do?

I wouldn’t. The other event was canceled essentially. You are starting off with a new guest list.

Guests do not get to decide if you will allow plus ones for truly single guests. However significant others (as they determine) are automatic invites .

Thank you! The guests requesting plus ones are in newer relationships, or simply want to bring a date. Would it be tacky if I instead requested they pay for their guest?

It is inappropriate to ever ask a guest to open their wallets at an event you are hosting. If you aren’t willing to pay pay for them, cut them as well. You can’t ask someone to celebrate your relationship while discounting theirs and the length of time they have been together is not your place to judge the validity of, unless these are Tinder dates.

For your truly single guests who are not in relationships, it is perfectly acceptable to not allow dates. But significant others regardless of lathering time together are automatic invites and are not plus ones.

Yes it absolutely would be very tacky to ask any guest to pay for their meal or their plus ones meal. You are the host so it is up to you to foot the entire bill for the day for your guests. If you can't afford to host plus ones then tell these guests no to plus ones.

Thanks for the feedback! Yes, some of these are tinder or rented dates. Hence, my hesitation to honor the request. Totally understandable for people in relationships to be included.
