My FH is wearing jeans. It was one of the few requests that he made and I was happy to accommodate. I think it’s important to remember that it’s his day too and if you’re ok with it, that’s all that matters.

I guess the question is how do YOU feel about it, not your mom. When you see the pictures with guys in blue jeans at weddings, are you fine with it? Do you cringe? Do you like the look? Also, how formal of an event are you guys going for? If it's a more casual kind of wedding, then blue jeans seems like they would fit. However, I don't know how well they would go with a formal wedding with a plated meal and such. The wedding is yours and your fiance's. Your mother's opinion is moot.

I agree with PP, it’s his day also. I have my mom giving input on things also that I don’t want to listen to, which I don’t really have to because FH and I are paying for our wedding.. so I can feel where you are coming from. However, for couples who do rustic type themed weddings, the colors you are mentioning are typically used for these style weddings. If you are okay with it then let him 😊

How formal is the rest of your wedding? If you’re having a plated meal with real china and a string quartet playing then it probably wouldn’t be appropriate to have the guys in jeans. If everything is more rustic or casual then it’s fine.

I’ve been to weddings where the guys wore jeans and a nice shirt with a vest or jacket. It’s your FH day too so if you’re ok with it then your mom needs to keep her opinion to herself. This is your wedding so do what makes the two of you happy.

If it’s an elegant wedding, then I would say no jeans. It will look really out of place. Maybe you can compromise and have suits for the ceremony and pictures and then they change into jeans after? Talk it out.

So we’re doing maroonish colored dresses and the boys are wearing jeans. Personally, I’m all about it obviously. Whatever you decide on, it needs to be right for both of you, and no one else

Is he picking your dress? No? Then you don’t get to pick his attire either. It’s just as much his wedding as it is yours.

I think the best photos will be the photos you see knowing you both made the decision you’re happiest with. There are some blue jeans that doesn’t look so “blue jean-ish” (if that makes sense) so maybe to fit it with the more elegant feel you want, that could be a suggestion. Wishing you the best!

My FH and his groomsmen are wearing blue jeans. I know he will be comfortable and it makes him happy. I am 110% on board because we are having a barn wedding and overall he will feel confident as well.

Jeans can look great on the groom & groomsmen. You might see if he’s open to at least wearing a suit for first-look photos if he really wants to wear jeans for the ceremony and reception.

What if you let them wear jeans but the top stays as like a dress shirt and vest? I think that would be pretty nice altogether

I think your mom needs to butt out about what the GM's are wearing. Your pictures will be great because you and your FI are getting married and are happy and comfortable. Nice dark blue jeans are fine and he gets to pick what he wears.
