Should the cake go in the same table with the candy

Should the cake go in the same table with the candy or should it go on a separate table?

I don't think it really matters unless the candy will get in the way of you cutting the cake. I have usually seen it on a separate table for the cake cutting and then taken to the back to slice and serve.

We are doing a separate table for our cake I don't want anyone touching it. And I think a lot.of kids would if it was on the dessert table.

It's really up to you and it can look really cute both ways. We are doing a dessert bar and opted to put the cake on a separate table. I didn't want all the other desserts in my cake cutting pictures. It's personal preference.

Our cake had it's own small table, and there was a separate table for the dessert buffet. I think our venue did it this way because for our cake cutting, they rolled the small cake table to the middle of the dance floor where everyone could see us.

Do the servers a favor and have it on a separate table. They need to cut it all and it is much easier to get that done efficiently without having to work around guests picking out desserts.

I would do it separate. My sister had the cake with candy and when the guests came to get candy one of them bumped the table and the cake tumbled onto the floor.

I would think no. Candy will be flying everywhere and it may end up on the cake.

Worst case scenario, somehow an overeager candy enthusiast damages the cake in their attempt to grab more.

I would have it separate, but I think it comes down to preference and how your venue is set up. I like the idea of a candy station where people can get up and take from whereas the cake would be taken away, cut, and then handed out to each person. I don't see anything wrong with having the bottom tiers taken away though for cutting and then leaving the cake for display with candy around it though (it would look nice). Only thing I could find wrong with that is that people who are drinking could easily go to grab some candy and knock over the cake.

Thanks everyone for the advise. Most definitely I will put in a separate table.
