Should we share our vows before getting married?

Patricia, on August 28, 2022 at 2:24 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 3
We are getting married at the courthouse just the two of us, so it’s nothing traditional. I’m wondering if we should still share our vows to make them match or something? I’ve seen that couples do that for their weddings because they have guests but we’re not having any guests or witnesses so I’m feeling more towards keeping it a surprise until that day since no one else is hearing them

Hi Patricia! My husband and I shared our vows prior to our wedding. Not to match but more so because I'm very emotional and didn't want to ugly cry the entire time we were reading our vows. We went to a secluded beach and watched the sunset and read our vows to one another about two weeks beforehand. This also helped us get comfortable saying our vows out loud. It's entirely a personal preference but if you're emotional as well, I'd recommend reading them at least once to one another so you can get that initial ugly cry out of the way lol

Hi! My fiancé and I are getting married in November and we’re both pretty private people. We don’t really do PDA except quick pecks on the lips/cheek. We decided to do tradition marriage vows. We are writing our own vows to share later after the ceremony when it’s just me and him. To each their own 😊

For a courthouse marriage, it seems better to keep the vows a surprise to share afterwards. That would keep the event more elevated and give more momentum to you.
