The question is can you ask for money for your honeymoon instead of physical gifts for a shower, which no, you cannot

To me, it's a little awkward since if there isn't a registry, it's insinuated that they are expected money. However, that's not to say it can't be done! I think it's a "know your crowd" type of thing.
