Should you post pone if you're a 2021 bride?

Flame Princess, on March 16, 2020 at 5:42 PM Posted in Planning 0 8
Asking for a friend.

I am the friend.

But on a real note, it makes me nervous when October 2020 brides are rescheduling. I have so much to do and I worry I can't use resources like Amazon bc their employees and delivery people need to quarintine too! The more we all take it seriously the sooner we can go back to normal. But on that other hand my job is outside so we have yet to talk about it seriously or even put out hand sanitizer🙄 Should I even bother finding a coordinator this week like I was wanting to? Should it all be under control by this time next year?

You have over a year for this to pass. I would not postpone, maybe focus on things you are able to accomplish currently. Maybe book your main vendors and just save as much as you can to be able to purchase the items you need in the upcoming months.

Hi, my wedding is scheduled for January 2021 & as of now I have not considered postponing. Everything has been changing on a daily basis, and I am praying that the whole thing calms down by June. I think we should be fine as of now, but would look into moving if things persist into the end of the year (Aug./Sep.).

You should wait until guidance effects your date directly or if your guest count drops to a level that either vendors won't support or if you feel certain guests who need to be there can't make it. The last thing you would want to do is go through the struggle of rescheduling (it's been an entire day process for me) to find out it would've been fine to have kept your original date. Because if you didn't already have wedding insurance, depending on the provider, you're not likely to be able to obtain it now for any upcoming nuptials. If you're wedding is 2021 its waaayyyy to early for you. Focus on having fun planning and don't worry about this! I would be SURPRISED if this was still so active by then.

No. It effects brides getting married in the spring and MAYBE summer. If the virus continues to spread for over a year, do the math, like half the population would be dead. That is not going to happen. Chill, that’s a complete alarmist attitude. Panic breads more panic, stay home, keep yourself safe and this too will pass

It would be irrational to cancel a 2021 wedding! Wait and see what happens before making any decisions.

Im getting married next july and im not worried about it you have time. However, once things go back to normal start booking your other stuff because brides this year will overlap with 2021 brides so it might cause overbooking or hard to find someone in price range... I have most things booked but not everything but nothing is really moving so hoping to pick back up once this over with.

That's what I'm afraid of! But also not worried about over booking quite as much bc it's in Maine, and well, small towns, small businesses, and not very many youngins like ourselves running around or getting married. (In comparison to CA or even Indianapolis.)

I was initially asking bc I know of a lot of ladies (May-October 2020) rethinking the whole wedding for various reasons. Theirs will work out (like two of them are probably gonna elope and tbh I think that suits them much better) and ours will work too. We all got this
