Show me your 2-2.5 carat rings

Karen, on March 26, 2018 at 9:33 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 21
My fiancé and I are custom designing our ring. Anyone ok with sharing your ring that has a 2-2.5 center ring? I really want one with a thin halo and thin band. Thanks!!!

Do you care about shape of the stone, mounting, or gold?

Preferably diamond but anything white/clear will do to help me visualize it. Other than that anything helps!

My setShow me your 2-2.5 carat rings 1

I have a 2.13 carat marquise cut diamond in a bezel with metal filagree scroll halo.

I don't like talking about the weight of stones because a 2-carat ideal cut marquise is going to look much different in size than a 2-carat old mine cut round (tend to look smaller) or a 2-carat old European cut round (looks much larger but the light performance tends to suffer) or a 2-carat modern brilliant cut round (great sparkle because we finally are able to map ideal facets for brillance and ideal light retraction) or a 2 carat princess cut (square cuts always tend to look smaller). A 2-carat will also look much different in the setting. A 2 carat bezel set tends to look smaller. A 2 carat martini set will look larger (much more prone to chipping though). A 2-carat also will look different based on the size of the person's hand. An itty bitty size 3 will look like the diamond is the width of their finger with a 2-carat. A size 11-12 will probably look a decent amount smaller.

Mine is obviously not a diamond, but for size reference!

Anyone have diamonds going on all 3 sides of the band? Do you get used to the thickness after a while?

Thanks! Two of my old jeweler friends collab-ed to design and set my ring!

OP, my engagement ring is a 6.75 and my wedding band is a 7 (thick band).

I love your opal! My grandmother is an opal and she is such the matriarch on my white side of my family. I gifted her opal studs on our wedding day for being our "flower girl." Your opal has so much fire!

I definitely don't have a 2+ carat, but I have stones on three sides of my band for both my e ring and the wedding band! FH picked the setting for the e ring and I wanted the matching band because the thought of covering the diamonds on the back of my e ring with a plain band made me so sad!

I don't wear a lot of jewelry, so just wearing a ring took me a while to get used to, but I absolutely love the band and setting.

My ring is a 2.11 carat center stone emerald cut with two trapezoid diamond on either side with a double edged halo and triple edged bands. The total weight is 5 carats and there are over 200 individual diamonds on my ring. My fiancé and I designed my ring together and it actually got an Instagram video on the jewelers website which is super cool! Now I just need to decide on a wedding band! Happy ring designing!
