My future mother in law actually gave my FH her engagement ring that his dad used to propose to get reset to propose to me with. My FH's dad died when he was in high school so it really means a ton to him...and it means a ton to me that his mom wanted to hand it down to me

You are never going to believe this but my amazing fiance MADE my engagement ring. He is an engineer and he designed, cast, and set the stone all for me. He made a video of the entire process to show me later... I'm so proud of him and THE ring!

I loveee my ring! It's a 2.17 emerald cut stone with a pave halo and split shank band with diamonds halfway down. The wedding band is very delicate with .35carats I believe...

My wife and myself decided on the more simplistic approach as we don't need anything huge or flashy to depict our love for one another.

Mistie that ring is nuts, do you know what kind of setting it is / what it is called. I really do love it. I just found wedding wire, and the amount of participation here is rediculous. I was mainly looking at guides at engagementringsnetwork, but this place seems to have way more discussion. Anyway the ring I got is pretty similar to the One Mistie is showing, I am going to up load some pics once I get a couple quality shots.

Love everyone's rings! 8 years ago my husband lost his wedding band on a drill weekend. We replaced it, and a month later I found his original band. Coming up on our 13th anniversary, we had the idea to put a new diamond on his original band...so now I truly am wearing his ring The oval is a 1.3 ct, for our 13th anniversary, in 2013 AND we have 4 kiddos (1+3, ha!).

I just got my custom engagement ring from Liza Shtromberg in Los Angeles...I love it so much, she used a diamond that had been an earring of my grandmothers and created exactly what I wanted...a recycled family heirloom!! She's currently working on a matching band and I can't wait! She also gave me credit for the platinum setting the earring had been in which was really helpful.
