Shower Invite Wording

Kevin, on May 5, 2020 at 11:10 AM Posted in Parties and Events 0 3
So we are getting married in October if all goes well. My bridal shower is in September, my mom and fmil are hosting, but I’m doing the invites. We have a plan b in place that we will decide on August 1 to postpone or not and move the wedding to april. We were going to send out the shower invites in June, extra early because it’s Labor Day weekend, I am going to have everyone rsvp over email so I can send out an email blast if things change and we have to postpone, but how do I word all this on the invite! We are planning as usual but it may also get cancelled and rescheduled and I’m not sure how to let my guests know that, help!

I wouldn't go out of my way to tell them that you may postpone. I think, for the most part, everyone knows that any plans made right now are tentative. I also don't think there's any good way of saying "you're invited to a shower on this day, or maybe not, we'll let you know."

If you really want to mention it, you can always put a little asterisk at the bottom, saying something like, "*we are following all public health guidelines, and will alert you to any changes".

But I think everyone knows things can change any second, now.

I agree! Just have them RSVP by email so you have their info in case you need it, but I don't think you need to mention potential back-up plans yet!
