Shredding for the wedding

Adriana, on May 18, 2017 at 1:24 PM Posted in Fitness and Health 0 19

Any of you have weight loss goals for your wedding? What are you doing to work towards them? I was doing great on my diet until we went on vacation which is when we got engaged. Now I'm struggling to get myself to diet. I workout 5 days a week but I know with my body that will only maintain :/

You have to make it a priority to get on the eating clean band wagon. You can't out train a crappy diet period. You might have to look inside yourself to figure out what is holding you back and tackle that first but that is the only true way is to get your eating on track.

I joined weight watchers last month, so far by simply changing my eating habits I've lost 12 pounds. I'm starting to swim twice a week as well as hiking.

You can't out exercise your diet. Put more effort into diet, otherwise you're just spinning your wheels.

Diet doesn't mean chicken and broccoli. Your diet consists of whatever you eat. Take the time to find healthy foods that you actually enjoy that fill you up. Meal prepping my lunches for work is what keeps me on track.

I'm trying to lose 15lbs before Oct. If you were doing great on your diet before, you can get there again. Maybe adding a meal plan to your workouts will help. If you're doing the same routine 5 days a week, try mixing that up too--take a class 2 days a week like OrangeTheory, Cycling, or a Pilates to help and do the other 3 in the gym.

For meals, I hate to say it but they work...wither Nutrisystem (you can actually buy meals/shakes from WalMart), or Isogenic. Just to drop before your wedding and help get you back into "diet" mode. Good luck!

This is stupid but the size two dress was a bit big on me so I ordered a size 0 blindly. Waiting for it to come in. That will be my goal. To fit into my size 0 lol

I have been walking and drinking the herbalife products. I have also been cutting back on a lot of fried foods, pasta, and bread.

I have been clean eating and working out as well. I will admit I don't follow my clean eating on the weekends like I do during the week. I really need to get that under control!

Tracking via MyFitnessPal was life changing for me! I never realized how much I was actually eating. Just by tracking my calories and macros and working on 2-3 times a week, I've lost 15 pounds since February! 3 more pounds to go to my goal weight! Diet is 80% of losing weight!

I have a little under a year until my wedding and would like to lose 15-25 lbs. I am on weight watchers (have lost 10 lbs so far), which I have used successfully in the past. If you do online only it is cheaper and they have their own social media attachment called weight watchers connect which is very motivating/inspiring. I am also a Flywheel/Flybarre/Orange Theory devotee (/gym class addict), and I take about 10-12 classes a week (early morning). I think the fitness classes help me with stress more than weight loss, as food is definitely my bigger concern (and that is what I use weight watchers for!).

I've lost 20 pounds in the last six months by following the 80/20 mantra...Like others have said, you can't "out-exercise a bad diet" so eating healthfully is most important. For me, it helped to think about what I could add to, rather than about what I had to take away, from how I eat to lose weight...80% of my meals consist of vegetables, fruits, high-fiber foods (oatmeal, grains, etc), lean protein (eggs, beans, chicken, lentils), and healthy fats (avocados, nuts, seeds, nut butters)...the other 20% of the time, I eat out and have pizza, a beer, whatever I want....depriving myself never works in the long-run! I also go to the gym 3-4 times a week to balance out that 20% of the less than clean eating and for my mental sanity...try to switch up your workouts and focus on eating more wholesome foods.

I'm down 6 pounds so far by using my fitness pal, visiting my nutritionist (which is no help), and monitoring my carb intake. I exercise 5-6 times a week with 4 days weights and the others doing HIIT or walking on the treadmill while watching crap tv.

I have 5 pounds to go and I know that the moment I over indulge I will binge so I have small cheats to stay focused and motivated.

I've been trying to sometimes hit the gym, cut out soda, eat smaller portions of junk food when I can, and get in exercise wherever I can. I have still had sweets and booze though lol.

Also waiting for my size 0 dress to come in this Thursday- bit nervous because it's unforgiving.

I am hitting the gym hard, 60 minute boot camp 5 x week, 30 minutes cardio 7 x week and eating clean. Meal prepping twice a week has been key from me. And I make sure to take food with me everywhere I go so I don't make poor choices.

    10lbs down in 3 weeks.

@VickiG meal is such a life saver!!!!

Don't think of it as a diet, but life style change. Start simple by taking out sodas, artificial sweeteners and adding more protein, green veggies and whole grain. You will be surprised at how your body will respond to that. My fiancée and I work out all the time, but needed a little cleanse to jump start. We ate nothing but protein (fish, chicken, turkey), fresh green vegetables, whole grain brown rice, eggs, nuts (almonds, peanuts), natural peanut butter, and nothing from a cow. My fiancée has portion control issues and after having his appendix removed & not being able to work out for 2 months, he gained some weight. Now he's cleared to workout. Just by changing the foods we eat, he lost 8 pounds. Now we are slowly incorporating fruits and other foods back into our meals.

I just hate the term "diet" because it seems so torturous. There's no quick fix. You have have to eat clean (with splurge here and there), work out, and not eat super late at night.

My goal is to drop 20lbs by wedding, 90 days to go. I downloaded Lifesum app to keep track of what I eat. I am also getting back to exercise, for me it's mainly swimming and belly dancing.
