Shuttle Service

Hi WW! Did any of you provide shuttle service for your guests to/from your wedding venue? I’m thinking about providing shuttle service from the hotel to my wedding/reception venue for my out of town guests. Was this pricey? Thanks in advance for your responses 😊

Been thinking this may be an option. The service I got a quote from charges hourly and would do trips back if people ubered in. Our venue has service from Uber and lyft to it but I am mostly scared about people being able to get home.

I would talk to your hotel. Our shuttle is included if we meet a minimum room requirement (and we definitely will) otherwise it’s $200 for the night. I think with a lot of out of town guests it’s a necessity, it’s also nice with all the drinking of everyone’s coming back to the same hotel to not have people all have to call their own Uber. It will also make sure that people arrive on time to the ceremony. You never know if a bunch of people call an Uber of everyone will be there on time.
For me it was a necessity.

That’s hard for me to tell. Roughly half of our 175ish guests are from far out of town. The bridal party and my immediate family is being provided with accommodations on site courtesy of my parents, which I guess is why I didn’t even think about shuttles.

I’ve called so many hotels and none even offered it until I called a Marriott when I saw your post. So thank you!!!

I think MOST of our guests will drive themselves and have a DD or be OK with Uber ($70 round trip). But if I can even just lessen the amount having to drive themselves or pay for an Uber, I feel like it’d be a success. We are maxed out on our budget, so I don’t want to end up using a private shuttle bus. It’s just not affordable at $1200. I can do it where the bus will drive people back to the venue for about $700 but I think people will be confused.

If I can do a room block, get people a discount on the room, and get them a ride courtesy of the hotel, then that is a solid deal. And those who opt to stay elsewhere or drive themselves, that’s fine too because at least I will have given them an option that includes two complementary rides and a discounted room.

Hi everyone! Thanks for all your comments and suggestions! Just an update- none of the hotels that I have room blocks offer shuttle service at all 😩🤦🏽‍♀️ So I reached out to a few companies and the best rate I’ve received so far is around $970 for 8 hours of service in a 44 passenger mini coach. I’m booking with them! Thanks again for all your helpful tips and suggestions 😊

Hi! I went to a bridal show at my venue and they had a transportation company there. I picked up a brochure and didn't think much of it. When the time came for me to start looking for transportation I had totally forgotten about them. I was getting quotes for $1500+ for just a guest bus! Luckily I remembered this other company and they were far cheaper, they even offered a discount since I had attended the bridal show. We paid $560 for bridal party transportation (3 round trips in a 10 person luxury van early in the day to the venue), and guest transportation (40 passenger luxury party bus that will do as many trips as required to shuttle guests to and from the venue). No other deal I found came close to this price.

We're not. We got very lucky. A majority of our guests are local and the few that are from out of state are driving in and are staying with friends who are also coming to our wedding and they plan on riding together. If we had a lot of out-of-state guests we would in a heart beat but our out-of-state guests aren't even using the room blocks we've set up for the wedding b/c they've opted to stay with friends.

If you plan on doing it, ask the hotel where your room blocks are if they have a shuttle that can take them to and from the wedding. The hotel we blocked rooms at is less than 5 minutes from our venue and when we initially asked, they said it was not issue at all. Depending on how far your venue is, and what hotel it is, they may charge you for that. Ours wasn't going to because it was so close to our venue.
