Signature Drinks Anyone?!

Erica J, on April 2, 2014 at 3:12 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 18

So my wedding is the 19th of this month and we have to meet with our caterer to finalize everything. She mentioned a signature drink, and I had no idea what that even was until I googled it! lol So what signature drinks are you ladies serving at your wedding so I can get an idea of what is the norm?

FH and I got to pick from a list the venue had or we could make up our own as long as they had basic ingredients in them. We chose their spiked strawberry lemonade with fresh fruit garnish.

I didn't do one, but if you can tell me your wedding colors, event style, and what sort of drinks y'all like, I can probably recommend something.

If you want to keep it simple, do your favorite drinks i.e. his-rum and coke yours-vodka martini. That was its personal but you don't have to stress over another little detail. You can also do something that ties into your colors or theme.

My theme is country fairytale so I was thinking "poison" apple martini and spiked sweet tea.

None, I just have an open bar. You don't "have" to do a signature drink if you don'e want to.

We're having signature drinks! Our colors are navy blue with pink accents and since there aren't many blue drinks, we decided on blue hawaiian with pink sugar rim.

We are doing them. Since our theme is the Harlem Renaissance (1920-40s), mine is called "The Bee's Knees". It's made with gin, lemon juice and honey. We are still working on FH's.

Our venue said we can do signature drinks (I just have to make a sign for them to display) but I'm torn. I can't decide if I want to do something with our color (blue) or do our favorite drinks and call them Blushing Bride and Dashing Groom or something similar.

We're doing a few. Not sure what we're calling them but one is the drink Purple Rain

    1 1/2 oz vodka

    cranberry juice

    1 splash Blue Curacao liqueur

1 splash sweet and sour mix

    1 splash soda water

We have a full premium open bar but we still decided to do signature drink because it's no extra charge. Our colors are purple and silver, hence the purple drink.

We just did his favorite drink (southern comfort, orange juice & cranberry juice) and my favorite drink (pinnacle licorice vodka, cranberry juice, & sprite...tastes like swedish fish). I didn't feel like putting too much thought into it lol

We are having Sappy Sangria! I am making about 5 gallons of red sangria for our 100ish guests.

We're considering having four signature drinks for something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue, but we haven't decided exactly what each one is going to be or if we are even going to do it.

These are great ideas! Someone asked what my color/theme was. The dress color is Sangria and my theme is peacock feathers.

Well, if it's your color, why not serve a sangria, then?

This is the one I make at home - potent and delicious! http://allrecipes.com/recipe/classic-spanish-sangria/

He likes whiskey and I like fruity drinks, so we are going to have two, a Mr. Headecker and a Mrs. Headecker. Since we both like to mix drinks, we chose the ingredients for our own drinks.
