We really like the idea of signing our marriage license during the ceremony! Has anyone else done this?

We are thinking of putting it after exchanging the rings and right before the breaking of the glass (we’re Jewish) and the pronouncement (so the order would be: rings, signing license, breaking glass, pronouncement). Does this seem like the right place to put it?

Also, we’re struggling to find a way for the officiant to introduce the license-signing part of the ceremony. We’re thinking something like: “will the witnesses please join us for the signing of the marriage license” but we’re not crazy about that wording... any suggestions would be appreciated!

We are Jewish as well and thinking about signing the Ketubah during the ceremony but not sure if it'll be too time consuming. I think it's a cool idea if you can work it into your plan Smiley smile

Yeah we were thinking of this too... doing the marriage license and/or the ketubah during the ceremony. Idk maybe we’ll see during the rehearsal how long all of that will take!

I've never seen a ketubah signed during the ceremony. It is signed before and technically that is when you are married according to Jewish faith. I'd honestly find it odd and disjuncted to see it signed during the ceremony.

No we didn’t! I was worried it may be boring to watch and take people out of the moment if they just had to sit and wait for people to sign. We signed immediately after the ceremony, before pictures. It took like 2 mins!
