Silk Centerpieces or Live Flowers????

Ok.... I have a real problem with spending alot of money for real flowers when they will only get used for the day of the wedding and them slow die. What is your option on using silk flowers for the reception? We are using real flowers for the bouquets and boutonnieres.

I love real flowers, but as a former florist that's not too surprising. If you're stuck, how about flowering plants instead? They're live, but last, and cheaper than cut flowers and no arranging necessary. Your wedding is in December? Not sure of your colors, but some red, white, or pink poinsettias might look super nice. Or, go real flowers, but just keep it very simple- even 1 flower floating in a bowl is prettier than fake, in my opinion.

I bought silk bouquets and bouts off of etsy and they were stunning. My venue included real flower center pieces.

I prefer real but don't want the costs associated so I'm doing beautiful flowerless centerpieces. I will, however, have real flowers for all bouquets and bouts.

I'm very anti-fake flowers in any setting! If you're really against the cost of cut flowers, consider potted flowers or skip flowers completely and think of another centerpiece option. IMO, fake flowers just cheapen the look of everything around them!

You also don't have to do flower centerpieces (though they are beautiful).

I prefer real. My friend used fake flowers for her wedding and you could tell they were fake. Her mom told me they didn't save any money using silk flowers.

I am a fan of saving money. I recommend fake flowers if you shop around and see them in person, I bought mine from Walmart and started putting things together and fell in love with the quality. There will be some real flowers on the day of but I am not a flower person by all means, so I'm okay with the fake flowers for centerpieces that are 2 feet tall if it means I get to add another couple of hours to my photography/videography package. Or get to get a few more bottles of alcohol, I'm more about the party than those minor details. I would recommend shopping in person if possible! Hope this helps!

My husband has bad allergies, and so does his son. Real was out of the questions. We did fake for our bouquets and chapel alter arrangements and a friend arranged them for me. They also were on top of our cake. I have my arrangements from the chapel on display in our home along with my bouquet. We had candle centerpieces.

I like real flowers, for the same reason a lot of people don't. They DIE. So I'm not stuck with some fake flowers collecting dust in the back of my closet. Because let's face it, this wedding will be an important part of my life but the props I use will not be part of my home decor.

Anything you spend your money on for your wedding will only be for one day. I think fake flowers look fake and cheap to me. If you're going to have a wedding, any decor should always be factored into the budget before the budget is made. You have plenty of other options for centerpieces or reception decor that don't include flowers. You can do candelabras or just regular candles or a lantern. I am 10000% team real flowers!

I am using real flowers for my centerpieces, bouquets, etc. However I will be using silk flowers I purchased from Etsy for some of the accent tables like the guest sign in table, bar, etc.

I'm doing fake... my aunt offered to decorate the ceremony space and is using fake flowers. She is gonna save the flowers and use them for future events. I have no problem with it and she's so excited. She showed me some pieces and it looks beautiful. I originally got a quote from a florist for 5,000.. . So we decided to save that and use that towards our down payment for a house. It's just preference. Some people don't like fake flowers and that's fine. This was just more convenient for us.

I am using real flowers and sending the bouquets home with family and friends who helped with the wedding. I feel like fake flowers are sometimes MORE expensive than real.

But I also really love freshly cut flower arrangements. If I didn't already love them so much, I maybe would go with silk.
