Silk vs Real Flowers

I think it all depends on your personal preference and what is important to you on your day! I am really not a flower person so proposed saving some money and forgoing fresh flowers for my day. My fiancé really felt strongly about having fresh flowers and since that was important to him we decided to have them because it was what he envisioned. Silk or real they will look beautiful either way. Just have to decide what is most important to you personally.

I feel like an outdoor elopement in Alaska absolutely begs for fresh flowers!

Based on your venue, fresh seems like the best option.


We didn’t like any of the silk flowers we saw because in order to look remotely realistic, they were more than twice the price of fresh flowers and they go into a landfill afterwards because we don’t plan to keep them. Plus you can’t recreate the scent or texture.
