Silver Dollar Eucalyptus Garland...

I haven't done my thorough research yet like normal, but I figured I could see if there's anyone here who...

Is there some magical fairy that bestows silver dollar eucalyptus upon those who do a special dancasdfjkl;ndwt~~~~~ LOL seriously though! What is the deal with the specific kind of eucalyptus! I haven't done my thorough research yet like normal, but I figured I could see if there's anyone here who has an idea before I dive into hours on web-surfing! Haha. Is there something about it that makes it harder to come by? There are no artificial garlands available for silver dollar eucalyptus (SDE lets say from now on). The only one i found was over $300 on amazon! CRAZY! I was hoping to have the head table adorned with thick and luscious SDE. So sad... Smiley sad of course, artificial stems are available at pretty decent prices all over the web... but are still a significant difference in their availability compared to others! I'm honestly very surprised by it.

So my question is... is there anyone out there who a) knows the scoop, b) was able to get a lot of SDE at their event through a florist, or c) also is having this experience?

It seems like SDE is the latest trend in elegant white and greenery themed weddings, especially when you look on Pinterest and it's all over the place! I'm just really surprised!

    Have you checked with your local Costco floral dept? I was looking at buying eucalyptus and fillers from them.

    I am using a lot of it as well and I am using silk purchased from Hobby Lobby at half price. $10 a bunch when half off.

    Do they have eucalyptus? I only saw a greenery mixture and the reviews said it came with a lot of baby breath.

    Try Save On Crafts. There are over 8 pages of garland in a variety of colors, textures, including crystal, pine cones, berries and a host of other beauties. They are not cheap, but they are affordable.

    Garland of many varieties


    Certain eucalyptus come out at certain times of the year, thus the price. You also have to be careful because they do have oil and can bleed onto fabric if they become moist. Also, some folks sneeze at the odor. I love them, but see what will work for you.

    That's a good point! I do enjoy doing crafty things, so that's partially why I'm so gung ho on it, but I would like to pinpoint my efforts where it will really save us big time! So I appreciate that because I'm totally clueless when it comes to working with a florist! I will probably just them do what they do best and focus my crafty skills on my centerpieces!     Thank you! Didn't even think about how oily they might get, or the season to be honest! These are good points. It looks like I will be just doing some simple smaller centerpieces but I would like to include some of it so I'm on my treasure hunt to all these sites suggested! I haven't heard of Save on Crafts yet tho so I'm about to look there!!

    I'm in love with the eucalyptus garlands! But their price, not so much. I was able to find a rental vendor, at our local bridal show, that was running a special on the pricing. Fresh garlands were 4$ a yard, which I thought was pretty reasonable. Maybe try local wedding rentals.

    HEATHER! I AM IN THE SAME BIND RIGHT NOW!!! What did you end up doing? there is a sale that ends today for the fake garland, but its still spendy. my thought is to buy the fake so i can potentially resell it and make some of my money back, but at the same time i dont want anything that looks plastic or cheap looking. the real is beautiful but i wont make any money back on it. ugh i just dont know what to do!!!!!
