Backstory: My sister has done my hair for so many events growing up - prom, high school graduation, Sadie Hawkins dances, etc. Ideally, she will also do my hair for the wedding, as that is something that is special for us. However, she's also my MoH and notoriously late for things/underestimates how long it will take her to get ready. So the hope is that she'll have time to do my hair, however I want it to be something simple enough that I can do it myself if timing doesn't allow. That said....
I have what I refer to as "the world's straightest hair". This hair, dude.... I can't count the number of high school dances I went to that started at 8:30 and I'd get my hair professionally done in the afternoon. Curls would be there and they would glue it all together with about 6 cans of hair spray. And then it would be completely straight again by the time the dance started. So I'm looking for ideas for a bridal ponytail.
Things to consider:
1. I despise hair spray. Loathe it. I will not be wearing it on my wedding day. So, as gorgeous as they are, it's probably best to avoid the curls.
2. I'll definitely need to be able to practice this beforehand in case I do need to do it day of. I am able to French braid my hair, so options with a braid element are welcome. However, I don't own things like a curling iron, straightener, etc.
3. I have an undercut! It's wonderful for helping me stay cool, but can look awkward with certain ponytail styles.
Thanks in advance for your wonderful suggestions! Aaaaaaaaaannnddd.......... GO!
