Hi, I'm pretty upset today. Last night I tripped and fell and landed on my face. Hi, I'm pretty upset today. Last night I tripped and fell and landed on my face. Thankfully I didn't mess up any teeth, but I broke my nose (minor fracture), hurt my lip and have pretty bad like, road rash I guess, between my upper lip and my nose. (I don't want to post a photo.)

I was taking my dogs out to do their business, twisted my ankle and just fell. Since I had a leash in each hand, I wasn't able to break my fall. We went to the emergency room last night and were there for 5 hours. Thankfully, I didn't need any stitches.

Anyway, apart from just posting to vent and work through my feelings a bit, I was hoping someone could give me advice about helping my face heal as fast as possible. One person recommended vitamin E and/or Neosporin. Any other tips? Thanks! (FH left the after-care instructions with our ride, so I haven't been able to read them yet. I should get them later today.)

And, my hair trial was supposed to be today. Obviously I'm cancelling. It sucks that I'll still have to pay for it, but I understand why. The fact that my injuries could have been a lot worse is about the only thing keeping me from just sitting here and crying. Thanks again for any advice.

You can take bromelain (natural enzyme found in pineapple) and arnica in pill form applied topically to heel bruising. I had cosmetic surgery on both my eyes for excessive droopy lids and my eyes were black and blue and the size of baseballs. The surgeon recommended the arnica and bromelain to speed the healing and bruising was almost gone in 2 weeks.

The good news is you have a whole 6 weeks to heal. I'm so sorry you have to deal with this but thank goodness it wasn't worse and your teeth are okay.

Good luck and wishing you a speedy recovery!

So sorry this hapoened, ive used mederma for scars (to not scar) and it works amazingly, also for any bruising a very light touch massage (lymph) will help the bruise go away faster. As a massage therapist ive seen it help many times on clients. I hope you heal quickly!

Six weeks is plenty of time! You'll be fine for the wedding. I broke my nose a month before I started college and it was totally healed by the time I got there.

I'm glad you're OK and I hope everyone's posts are cheering you up a little.

I'm not sure if anything can be done for a broken nose, but I might suggest investing in Manuka Honey bandages. I was in a car accident a few years ago, and had bad abrasions on my face. I was able to heal quickly and with minimal scarring using Manuka Honey bandages while the wounds were healing, and Aloe Vera as a facial moisturizer and Mederma scar gel to prevent scarring when the scabs began to fall away. I hope you heal well!

I'm so sorry this happened but glad you're ok! You should be healed in plenty of time for the wedding but def use neosporin to reduce scarring and do not pick at the scab. You should be fine!

Oh no, I'm so sorry!!! I'm glad it's not worse. Use ice or cold packs for your nose, bio-oil, neosporin or coca butter. I know it sucks, but it will heal before the wedding. Take care.

Oh no I'm so sorry! 6 weeks is a good amount of healing time thankfully.

I would caution against Neosporin if you'd never used it before, I developed an awful rash that that lasted longer than my injury. ONLY apply what the directions are telling you to use! Chamomile tea bags help with swelling especially around the eye area!

Oh Honey I'm so sorry!!! I dont know if u have access to Essential Oils but tea tree and lavender oils promote healing. 6 weeks should be enough time to heal and make up can do the rest. Good luck to u.

I find using good essential oils helps! Frankincense and myrrh are great for cuts and skin issues! I use doTerra, but Young Living is good too. I’m allergic to Neosporin, so these help me a lot.

I’m so sorry this happened to you but everyone is right, 6 weeks should be plenty of time for everything to heal! The only thing I would suggest is that if you feel like you don’t like the look of your broken nose to get it looked at immediately. If you get it reset so soon after the break it will have a better chance of healing to look like it did previously. I broke my nose last year and I went to an Ear, Nose, and Throat doctor and had a minor, non-invasive surgery. I was in and out in less than half a day and now my nose looks nearly identical to the way it did before. Best of luck and I wish you a speedy recovery!

I think you'll be mostly if not completely healed by your wedding, but if you're worried about scarring there are good products out there like Mederma. Anything else your MUA should be able to cover - if you hadn't planned on getting it done I'd look into it now, a pro will help you have peace of mind and will know what to do with any residual marks.

Aw, I'm so sorry this happened to you! My dogs are constantly pulling me in different directions at all, so I completely understand.

Once your wounds close, apply Mederma, liberally. And don't buy the off-brand stuff. Pay the full price - this stuff really works!

Back in January I got a mild second-degree burn on my lip, and I applied Mederma constantly. Within weeks and a bit of coverup makeup, you couldn't even see it anymore!

Best of luck and a quick recovery!

Once it starts to heal, plenty of lotion! So the skin can hydrate and heal and not be dry for your wedding. I would think 6 weeks will be enough time though, especially if you are getting your makeup done.

I'm really sorry this happened. You must be so stressed. As an outsider I'm sure you'll be plenty healed by the big day and your MUA will help with anything else. Everyone else gave great advice. I just wanted to add to the words of comfort. Wishing you a swift recovery.
