I'm feeling a bit discouraged after David's Bridal and looking at other boutiques in the area though none specifically cater to plus size brides.

EDIT: I just didn't like the dresses I tried at David's Bridal, but yes they have a large plus selection!

Thanks for the encouragement!

@Jerseygirl I wore the same dress for my 1st wedding! The blue and all. I loved it!

You all are giving me life!! You all look so fantastic! I can't wait to go dress shopping now (even though I've been dreading it because of my size)

My dress! I think I ordered it in a 24. It's from a bridal shop's brand that caters to plus size. I recommend looking for plus size bridal shops near you!

This isn't my dress but I tried it on at David's and it kind of seems like what you're looking for.

I'm a street size 22/24. Ended up with a 20. Needs 6 inches to fit. It's an Alfred Angelo.

These are some beautiful dresses : )

I'm an apple shaped, size 24 bride. I dreaded dress shopping but did find my dress at DB. I tried shopping locally; but the shops didn't carry anything in my size & in my budget...I was not going to buy a dress without being able to try it on at all. Also, for me...having a long line bra helped smooth/flatten my midsection.

Here are some before/after alteration pics. I found an awesome n affordable seamstress in the area. She was able to do everything for $150 (added a tulle layer underneath which poofed out the dress enough to avoid needing a hem, 5pt bustle, tacked down the belt n made sleeves). I really hesitated on adding sleeves as I didn’t want to feel that I was trying to hide my arms; but when I saw these sleeves online…I knew I wanted them! Plus the tulle part of the sleeves helps hide my back fat. If you find a dress that has the basics you are looking for & a good seamstress…you can make the dress you own : )

Hi @Sarah B! I found my dress at a local non-chain bridal salon. They had a huge variety and up to a size 30. I'm normally a size 16 but my dress was ordered in a size 20. My dress is made by Mori Lee. Definitely don't settle! Your perfect dress is out there!

I actually liked almost everything I tried on, but my favorite was a standout, and the least expensive. Street size 18, dress size 22. This is a Davinci. Definitely not what I thought I would get! My suggestion is stay open minded, and try different styles and shapes.

This is my size 22 dress from David's bridal. I don't have the "poof" under it in these pictures.

My dress is a size 20 and I think it's a trumpet style dress. I did that "match my style dress" on the Davids bridal website, it was the first one that popped up and I told my FH then that it was mine I knew it and it was the first one I tried on. I tried on one other one that was short dress (not for me it was the part of me that's 19) but I knew this dress was the one I had to have. WAY over my budget, but then again my FH told me as long as I liked it it was okay.... my FMIL and FSIL were the only ones I had with me. My consultant was absolutely amazing. I loved the experience and the next day I went back to buy my dress. I only left without the dress because that day I talked to my FH and we decided to move the wedding up so I had to go buy it.

Same dress as above. I loved the back. It hid my flaws (arms and tummy) very well.
