Skin Care!? Whats the best!?

soontobewed2016, on March 12, 2015 at 10:32 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 37

I try(keyword here) to have an avid skin care regimen. I currently use Clinique 3-Step for oily skin (I actually use to be a Clinique rep) and am very pleased with it but I find more than improving the look of my skin it simply maintains it. I've also heard great things about Philosophy's skin care line and am thinking about switching over. What is your current skin regimen and what do you prefer???

My biggest struggle is moisturizing. I love Glam Glow products. I use the thirsty line and their mud masks. If I remember correctly their Super Mud product is great for oily skin

I swear by Estee Lauder's Idealist Pore Minimizing Skin Refinisher & the DayWear Advanced Multi-Protection Lotion. I actually mix them together to put on before my makeup and my skin feels amazing. Pores disappear and I always get compliments on my skin.

I have spent about 3 years looking for a good line... finally found Murad and I have been using it for about two months now... seriously the best stuff I have ever put on my face.. their online chat is amazing and will help you get what is perfect and you can swap it out within 60 if it isn't working perfect to try another product within their line or get your money back

I am using a three step formula with them and then an eye cream to get rid of dark circles.. best stuff ever

My dermatologist has me using dove bar soap (unscented for sensitive skin). That is literally ALL I wash my face with. And I am using Acanya which is a prescription face cream. I haven't had skin this clear in 15 years.

I LOVE (yes, yelling) Skin Script Skin Care! It has changed my skin completely. Over the counter products are pricey with minimal active ingredients... I have oily/hormonal acne prone skin and I swear I haven't had a breakout in years. You get it from aestheticians and med spas and it's much more affordable than than Clinique and Philosophy.

Soontobewed2016 - I was just looking at the Clinique 3 step for my skin to be on a more consistent regimen. What are the pros and cons? I have combo oily skin! What has you wanting to switch?

I recently started using Fresh Soy Face Cleanser and I have to say I'm a big fan. I got it as a free reward from Sephora though and have to decide if I want to shell out the money for a new bottle.

I am in desperate need of a new nighttime lotion, so I will probably look into some of the ones you ladies have recommended. And probably eye cream. Damn crow's feet.

I use Cetaphil to wash my face but I make my own moisturizer with olive oil, vitamin e oil, coconut oil, essential oils and beeswax.

I got nothin on eye cream though. Nothing seems to make a huge difference for me.

Honestly NaShara not lying I love my 3-step and I do love clinique products. I haven't neccesarily decided to switch just becuase I do love it so much and I actually think there may be some clinique products that I can add to my regimen just to give me that extra boost that I'm looking for. Also, being a former Clinique rep I do know a lot about the product and what would work for my skin and what wouldn't. Clinique pros:

-Hypoallergenic / gentle on skin (not that I have sensitive skin but compared to others it is a plus)

-Not a one size fits all/ There's different formulas to meet every skin care type

-Never let me down, I started using 3-step 3 maybe 4 years ago and I don't remember the last time that I had issues with my skin. The occasional pimple here or there but no major break out, my skin always feels hydrated never dry. (but when i do have those occasional pimples I just dab on acne solution emergency gel lotion to it and it's gone within 1-2 days, AWESOME!!!)

    Cons: Hmmmm....

Gosh, in writing this I actually don't know if I really do want to switch!!!! To be honest I think what I'm gonna end up doing is continuing to use 3-Step add on their 7-Day Scrub (bump up the exfoliation, but another AWESOME product!)

I have had problems off and on with acne since the age of 10 or 11, and have been on Accutane 3 different times. I have tried SO many different products, it's not even funny. But I think I've found a pretty good routine at this point. Since my last round of Accutane a couple years ago, my skin has been pretty much clear. I had quite a bit of hyperpigmentation both from acne and sun damage, but it looks much better after a series of glycolic acid peels.

    AM:

    1. Cetaphil normal-to-oily face wash. Sometimes I use the sensitive/all skin types wash instead. I like that one better but FH needs the normal-to-oily kind.

    2. Cetaphil oil control moisturizer with SPF 30.

    3. Obagi Professional-C serum 15%. Love this stuff, it makes my skin feel so soft and look brighter.

    PM:

    1. Same Cetaphil cleanser as AM

    2. Cetaphil moisturizing cream

Sometimes I will use a retinol at night, but lately it has been making me break out so I've nixed it from my routine.

I will typically get a facial every 2-3 months that includes a glycolic peel. Keeps my skin feeling like a baby's butt Smiley smile Cuz everyone wants their face to feel like a baby's butt... right?

Used to love the 3-step from Clinique, but when I got into my late 30s, it no longer worked for me. I use Paula's Choice. Can't say enough positive things about her products, and there's something for everyone and every condition. Recently changed my program again, from the anti-aging (loved!!!) to her products specifically for rosacea. Unbelievably affective! Getting results without a script...unheard of. Best of luck!!

I use Boots No. 7 Face cleansing oil, I have really dry skin and it removes the makeup. I have tried many different brands and like Boots and the Garnier one is really good. I found that if I used a cleanser that was too harsh my skin would dry out and break out.

I am absolutely following this post. I still haven't figured out the right stuff to clear up my skin. On a similar note though I was wondering if anyone has good advice for products to help fade past acne scars??

Acure Organics is an amazing skin care line. It has done so much to help improve my complexion. They're available online through Amazon and are now at Target. Nothing is over $20 (most are under $15) and they have options for all skin types. They are all I am using now.

@SunshineJenn – I have used Dove Unscented forever! When I was little I had some skin issues and the dermatologist recommended to my mom that I use it. I’ve seriously been using it for 20 years. Smiley smile

I have used the BareMinerals moisturizer for a few years now and I love it. The problem is that it is pretty expensive so I am looking for alternatives also.
